  1. Its really too bad that there isnt the ability to do pre and post motion recording for onvif cameras. I am using ACC5 Core and hikvision cameras and the camera triggering of motion events works great and ACC5 records on motion as it should and properly identifies the motion in the timeline. It seems that only Avigilon Cameras or others that have proper interfaces (axis etc) can to the full motion detection/recording with the pre and post recording. It would be a nice feature to be able to set a pre and post on ANY motion trigger be it ONVIF or native.

  2. Ok, so the images may not be tuned at all, but it may give you a bit of an idea of the field of view. I have 3 Hikvision DS-2CD2532F-IWS one 2.8mm, one 4mm and one 6mm. I set them up very basically and held them in roughly the same spot, give or take a few inches and grabbed a capture from them. Its not the best picture or shot, but hopefully it better illustrates the differences in FOV for these cameras.

  3. I had installed version 5.1.2 and hacked the davinci file on my DS-2CD2532F-IWS and because of that I was able to download and install 5.1.6 from the european site without the region issue. That being said, as soon as I logged out it went to all chinese. I telneted in and uploaded the davinci file I had used in 5.1.2 and rebooted the camera. It came back in English so I was happy. I logged into the camera and all looked good. I had the test buttons that had been talked about so all was good. Just to be sure I checked the firmware version and much to my surprise it is showing as 5.1.2 and NOT 5.1.6 as I would have thought. Can anyone confirm that the test buttons for things like NTP and IP Address were Not in 5.1.2? It may mean that the davinci file is making the camera think its 5.1.2 when its really running 5.1.6.

  4. Budget would be a huge factor in any decision you make. IP cameras will give you resolution you need but at a cost. I've worked with a few VMS systems at work, but I prefer Avigilon which is why I use it at home now. It is more than capable of doing all of the things on your list and then some. It is very easy to install and set up and extremely easy to use. The quality of the Avigilon cameras is excellent and the pricing is reasonable. I am using hikvision 3MP cameras at home which are less expensive than the Avigilon ones and still do a great job and integrate well into the existing system. Avigilon also has encoders which can take up to 4 Analog cameras so you could start with any existing analog cameras and then migrate to IP cameras over time as budget permits. I do not sell Avigilon or any other VMS or camera equipment so this is not a sales pitch, just my opinion based on my experience.

    Cheers.

  5. Sorry to revive an old thread.

Can anyone point me to a web site that describes the TFTP method referred to.

Looks like I have accidentally purchased 5 Chinese versions of this camera. Everything on the camera is in Chinese with no option to change.

    Thanks.

You should be able to apply the chinese to english fix. This works for firmwares 5.1.0 and 5.1.2. I suspect you have 5.1.2.

    See: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=40240

    Cheers.

  6. upgrade to 5.1 build 140217 located on kiKvision usa ftp under vms_firmware/ONVIF folder. I had the same problem with a chineese version using ACC5.2

You will have to use the TFTP tool if using a china model. TFTP can also be found on there FTP usa site.

I have managed to get everything working on 5.1.2 with my motion events triggering recording properly. Is there any other benefits to this ONVIF firmware? I could not find any release notes for it or any explanation on how it differs from the reg firmware.

    Cheers

  7. I have the same camera and have it working with ACC 5. There is specific firmware on the FTP site that works with Avigilon.

Do you mean that there is a specific firmware from hikvision for cameras working with Avigilon ACC5 or just that certain firmware versions work? If there is a specific version cane you provide some details? Is it for all markets or just USA/Europe and if you have a link that would be great too.

    Cheers.

  8. upgrade the firmware to 5.1.2

Do you have a link to this firmware? I just checked the FTP site and that firmware was not listed.

The firmware is available on the European site as well as the Chinese site. I have Chinese market cameras so I used the chinese firmware and applied the davinci fix.

    European:

  9. The Camera is:

    http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_show.asp?id=9446 running firmware 5.1.0

Yes, ACC5 is set to record on motion. 24/7

I have configured motion on the camera as best as I can tell. I have enabled motion detection. I have defined my motion areas and configured a 24/7 arming schedule and selected Notify Surveillance Center and Trigger Channel as my linkage methods.

I have not spoken with any integrators, I just thought someone here might know how to set it up.

    Cheers.
