  1. Recently I planned to buy one NVSS 6102 but there are some question I am not sure.

For the model NVSS6102, it said that only 9 channels realtime preview, it means that although 36 channels are connected and recording, only 9 channels can be monitoring (viewing) simultaneously on HDMI or VGA outputs?

If yes, how the customers see the rest of channels? Can I configure four views with 9 channels each, and then, the operator can switch between each view? I mean, switching between View 1 (channel 1 to 9), View 2 (channel 10 to 18), View 3 (channel 19 to 27) and View 4 (channel 28 to 36).

    Hi Zorro,

Actually our NVSS does support max. 64ch realtime preview, but due to the NVSS6102's decode ability(for small system), we suggest users to work with max. 36ch * D1 or 18ch * 720P or 9ch * 1080P realtime preview. And it does support to do sequence between several cameras in a window..

  2. Thanks tomcctv

Now problem is that I cannot login using admin user i missed password so I need help in order to find a way to reset the password on my Dahua DVR

    any clue?

Yes, the DVR will allow users to input ID and password to log in again after it was locked 20-30 minutes.. But your problem is you don't have password for ID admin any more, that's why I asked you to contact Dahua or their local dealer or your provider to reset the password.. Usually you have to provide the date information displayed on the DVR and they will give you a super password, then you can input to log in and then modify your own password.

  3. As it is Hikvision 3MP camera, it is better to select Hikvision NVRs such as DS-77xx series. Acturally Hikvision NVRs only limitted the bitrate for all cameras in the NVR, didn't limit the resolution. It can access max. 5MP resolution and record correctly.

Also you can select no brand ones from some company such as China Netvision.

Or you can choose Netvision's own developped PC structured Linux system--The NVSS, which can access IPC from D1 to 5MP resolution, it can access standalone DVRs / HDTVI / HDCVI DVRs too for 2nd Storage use. Max. 16 / 24 / 32 Hot-Swap HDDs(4TB for each) for huge systems too. The system supports auto add IPC / POS / IVA too.. More information, you can visit their website:

  4. Hi Dexter987,

Acturally I'm not sure what is your application. But I think you have to provide more information about the brands of the 3 DVRs; and you want to manage all of them in one software platform since the distance between the DVRs and the monitors is 35 meters, users even can not see what was showed on the monitors when operate on the DVRs locally.

We Netvision supports many brands of DVRs such as Hikvision & Dahua & XM etc.. also we have good solution for many application, you can put on information, and we can try to give you a good solution.

  5. what brand IP camera recording software are you guys using?

i have used Exacq IP camera software, but that was for a large company that had $$$$ to spend on a system.

i am interested in seeing some of the lower priced software options/solutions.

i have used blue iris in the past, but i am not a fan of their interface. it could be that i am spoiled by Excaq (anyone who has used it will know what i am talking about).

    thanks.

The Netvision provides a cost effective Hybrid NDVR software system. And we also support more than 20 brands of world famous IP cameras such as Hikvision, Dahua, AXIS etc.., ONVIF compatiable also. you can register on our website(www.netvisiondvr.com) and download software to have a test.

  6. With this Netvision Virtual Matrix, what sort of devices does it interface with? I want to install a Geovision GV-1240A-32. Will I be able to use this software to make my video wall on 7 monitors?

We Netvision support more than 20 world's famous brands of IP devices, ONVIF compatiable too.

You can have a look at our Partners List: http://www.netvisiondvr.com/Home/Partners

But sorry, I'm not sure Geovision IP devices are supported or not.. Maybe you can try ONVIF..

  7. I want to put in a PC based DVR system to replace our standalone systems and need some help choosing the best one. The biggest thing is the ability to have a remote client inside the network be able to use 7 monitors. I don't want to have to open 7 instances of Internet Explorer or any software. Basically, I want a dedicated computer somewhere in the office to connect to the DVR system over the network, and give me the ability to move around cameras over 7 screens without having to open multiple instances of any software. It makes it really difficult to rearrange the screens after a reboot.

    So to recap,

1 PC based DVR system with 32 camera

1 PC connecting remotely to the DVR system with 7 monitors attached

Software to display any given camera on any screen without having to open it multiple times. Either a single camera per screen, or multiple cameras per screen

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

We Netvision provide an application named "Virtual Matrix(PC Decoder)". With this application, users can control up to 24 monitors with 16 splits in each, one PC support up to 8 monitors with multi-output graphic cards, you can have a look at our website by this link: http://www.netvisiondvr.com/Home/NewDetails/106

The common installation of this application is to install CMS and Virtual Matrix(PC Decoder / TV Client) in different computer, but you can install them on one computer, CMS not display video, control all the display on the other 7 monitors.

For details, you can email me by support_eu@netvisiondvr.com

  8. Hi! I am new in this forum. I want to know and ask help on how can i view our cctvs using my macbook pro. Is there a software for it ? Any recommendations?

    Thank you.

Hi there, you have to provide more details that what system you are working for your cctvs? What hardware / software you are talking about?

Acturally, we Netvision have a MAC based Client software for our Hybrid NDVR surveillance system only. You can contact us to get more details on our website http://www.netvisiondvr.com. But it is not a public software compatiable with all hardware / software. I think other software also doing the same way..

  9. Thank you for a quick reply. Yes, this is exactly what the guy from a company that sold me these cards said. Nevertheless, picture on Dahua is truly bad. I worked with about 6 different types of cards and never seen this kind of thing. I hope that there is a secret for this because Dahua VEC8016HB are small in size, produce small amount of heat, are D1 25 frames and are cheap. Plus they have 2 TV outs per 16ch card. A great deal, but what is the problem with a picture? Hm...

    Hi Dimaxer,

Are there some pictures you can upload to show us the comparision?

  10. Guy I need help, my client with these DIGICam dvr card installed longtime ago...

Problems are bad images, showing picture with noises and sometime "no video signal"

All cameras are NTSC not PAL, please any one has ideal what to do before get rid of these?

    Thanks guys.

    Mr Ngoma

Hi therer, I suggest you to upload some pictures about your dvr card and the software, then maybe someone can give you suggestion what happened on your system.

  11. hi

I have a dvr card based on computer it doesnt have any name and I dont know even whats its software name i just have a copy of cd but there is no name and it isnt work correctly when i install the dvr server software it shows me an error massage (run time error file not found). what can I do please help me .

    thanks.

For your problem, I think the first way to fix it is go refer to your provider. If not, you can upload some screenshot about your card / your software interface / error information here for us to ID the software and card, then maybe somebody can give you a solution.

  12. Hey all..new to the forum although I have been a lurker for a little while. I have some older Lorex analog cams (2) installed and currently (1) ip cam and I am looking to finally get them the ability to record and be viewable from internet / etc.

I have a pc laying around that I wanted to drop a dvr card into which would handle (digitize) the analog cams but wanted to inquire if there was software that would handle both types of cams? I was looking at picking up a cheap dvr card from ebay / amazon etc and using some type of aftermarket software hoping it would pick up both the analog and ip cam? I also wanted all cams to be viewable from the internet which I am sure the software would handle.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciative on how I can accomplish this task.

    Thanks.....

    Hi Techgeek,

We, Netvision, provide Hybrid DVR Server system to deal with both analog cameras and IP devices in one system. Up to 64 ch cameras are supported, also we have CMS platform. I'm pretty sure our products can reach your target, the only problem is that I'm not sure the brand of your IP camera, so not sure if the camera is supported by our software, but if it supports ONVIF protocol, then no matter what brands, it can work in our software correctly. We also provide hardwares such as Capture&Compress cards/IP Devices and so on.

Here are the links for our website, you can take a look, and if you are interested in our products, you can contact us.

  13. Hi,

I have found a great DVR card, which I'm pretty excited about trying:

    Dahua DH-VEC8004HD PCI-E 4 Channel HD-SDI Full-HD 1080P H.264 Compression Card

But it uses "3G SDI" cameras in order to achieve 1080P resolution.

I need board cameras, but I haven't had any luck finding these. I have found "camera units" but they don't include the CCD or lens mount (so I"m confused about what they even are)

can anyone give me advice about how to find 3G SDI board cameras that will work with this DVR card?

    thank you!

    Flyeye

    Dear Sir,

There are many HD-SDI camera manufatory. These cameras can output SDI signal and connect to the VEC8004HD as video resource by coax cable, if you need to transffer from a long distance, you can use optical transmitter and receiver to convert SDK signal to be optical signal and then transffer through fibre-optical network. So I think the HD-SDI CMOS camera from Dahua is OK. Also they have CCD model, and the record is pretty good.

I'm from Netvision, we also sell Dahua products, and build a powerful hybrid DVR system. Here we offer a record clip for the VEC8004HD card, you can take a look at this.

    Best Regards.

  14. I put the card into an old P4 computer that I still had in a storage. It works perfectly now.

The computer that created the red pictures had a MSI GF615M-P33 motherboard and a AMD Sempron 145 CPU. I will avoid also the chipset (nForce 430) for future DVRs.

Thank you for telling us the problem and it is so happy to hear that you have solved the problem by switching a computer, I doubt there would be some problem with the motherboard of the computer, maybe not compatiable with the cards.

We will also ask our programmer to avoid such problem in the future.

  15. I have a strange problem with a new DVR card that I bought. It is a low cost card from NetvisionDVR that has impressive specs, but I am having some trouble with it.

    Link: http://www.netvisiondvr.com/ProductInfo.asp?id=101

The DVR that I build with the card replaced an old GE DVMRe that has worked with no problems for many years.

Now I have two cameras that become red and blurry regularly. It is really random - sometimes the cameras are fine for 1 week before becoming red and sometimes only for a few hours. Restarting the DVR ALWAYS handles the problem.

    Red cameras: http://imageshack.us/g/8/red3g.jpg/

When I move or shake the camera cables between the DVR and the balun (I am using baluns on all cameras) sometimes the picture becomes normal and sometimes makes other cameras become red as well. Replacing the cable between the balun and the DVR did not change anything!

It seems to have something to do with bad connection, but then why does restaring always handle the problem? And then, the GE DVMRe didn't give any such problems.

    What else can I try?

Edit: I contacted the Netvision Tech Support and they were not helpful at all. Even after explaining everything and sending pictures, the guy suggested that my cameras are broken...

    Hi there,

I'm from Netvision, and we do got your emails/pic, also checked the problem with the provider, they didn't met such problem either. We did ask you to switch the good channel with the bad ones, and doubt the problem would because of the cameras / PCI slot / PC, but then no reply from you.

Can you please test the card with newest version 6.62 on another computer? Also, you can try to connect from an analog camera to the bad channel(with red pic) by a coax cable when the camera turned to red.

There isn't any other customer met such problem, either the provider, also we tested here in our office with such cards but never happen such problem, so we have to test ourselves and with your help. You can email me at : support@netvisiondvr.com

    Best Regards

  16. Is there a hybrid software that would support both a Hikvision DS-4208 card and some AXIS IP cameras?

    Thanks

    I think netvision does.

    Hi there,

The netvision PC DVR Server system does support to work with both Hikvision DS-4208 card and AXIS IP cameras.

Acturally, Netvision software support a new series Full D1 with VGA/TV output cards, also many brands of IP cameras and ONVIF IP cameras.

For details, please refer to http://www.netvisiondvr.com

  17. William:

    1) The Netvision software supports dual monitors.

    2) Netvision support 2x 16port Compression cards (32 channels) in one computer

    3) Netvision sells and supports IP cameras to work with their software

i've got all of the above.

You mention that I need an i5 processor. OK, I've got an i7 processor (even better)

What 1155 based motherboard have you set this up with?

I'm really on the edge of my seat here...

    Hi There,

We setup such systems and they work perfectly, but not with 1155 based motherboard. Recently we have built a system with 1155 based motherboard, GA-H67A-USB3-B3, with single chip compression cards and many IP cameras, and worked perfectly.

Your problem with the CPU usage must because you use the dual monitors with extand mode, under this mode, software will use the CPU to decode all the video displayed on the second monitors, also the IP cameras displayed on the first monitor will use the CPU to decode too, this would cause the CPU usage to be higher. Please check.

For the 1155 based motherboard can not start up with dahua cards, this is because the new 1155 based motherboard do not support earlier bridge connection on the compression cards, maybe you can refer to a P43 or P45 to have a test.

By the way, did you get our emails? For this problem, I think our tech have sent you some emails.

  18. Ok.

You recommend a core i5 processor. I'm using dual xeon 5160's.

    Passmark scores the i5 750 @ 4266 and the dual 5160's @ 4201. Almost identical.

You suggest 2gb of ram. I've got 4th of ram.

You recommend a 512mb video card. Im using 2x ati radeon 6850 1gb cards.

You suggest using a raid configuration, which i am using.

So, it seems I'm using a more powerful system than you recommend for 30 analog + 6 2mp. However, even with no ip cameras added, im at 90% cpu usage. Once i add an ip camera I'm at %100 CPU.

Do you have such a configuration setup in your lab? Have you tested a setup like this.

Your company is very reputable, you must have large settle like this?

    Hi there,

I have to say, there are two ways to work with dual monitor function. One is stretch, and the other is extand.

When using stretch mode, can not control which camera to be displayed on the second monitor, but in this mode, all data from capture card will not use any CPU & RAM to decode & display.

When using extand mode, you can control which camera do be displayed on the second monitor, but in this mode, video displayed on the second monitor will use CPU & RAM to decode & display, so CPU & RAM will be used heavily since all video are D1 or 2 MP camera.

If you use extand mode to work with dual monitor fucntion and display 16 cameras on the second monitor. That equals you use your i5 CPU to decode 12 D1 cameras and 6 2 MP cameras. This would be the problem, the CPU is not powerful enough.

  19. Thanks for your insight William. I've done as you suggested and setup remote access for Netvision support to log in. I've sent my dealer this info.

Can you give me your suggested hardware specifications for the following setup.

    30 Analog cameras- D1, 20FPS

    6x 2MP cameras, 15FPS

    Dual Monitor

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Due to our Mail Server problem,we haven't got any email sent yesterday. I think if you sent the email to us yesterday, you have to send again.

    For the configuration problem,

I'm afraid you need an i5 or higher CPU and 2G or higher RAM, also a 512 MB graphic card is required too, since you have 6 2MP cameras. Also a RAID is required for the big record data. Dual Monitor function just required your graphic card to have two output ports to connect to two monitors.

    Best Regards,

  20. I've got this exact scenario right now with a new client. I've installed 2 dauha 16 channel cards(pci). I'm recording 30 cameras @ 20fps d1 res. With single monitor the system uses about 20% CPU. With dual monitors, the CPU usage jumps to 80% usage. As soon as I try to add just 1 ip camera (2mp) hikvision, the system maxes out at 100% CPU.

    The system I'm using is a 2x dual xeon 5160 3.0ghz

Wd black 2tb drives, raid 1. 4gb ram and dual ati 6850 1gb video cards.

It seems the application that displays the 2nd monitor is a CPU hog. I'm thinking net vision is not going to work for dual monitor.

I also built an i7 2600 system, but the system will not boot with the dauha cards. I'm thinking the motherboard does not work with the 32 bit cards.

Problem is, I can't find a new motherboard that will work with the cards, and an old motherboard won't work with a new i7 processor.

I had high hopes for the net vision software after reading good things about it on the forums here. But it seems like maybe it's geared more towards mom and pop stores and not enterprise.

    Back to exacq...

    Hi There,

I'm from Netvision, if you get your products and software from us directly, please contact our tech for help.

For the dual monitor problem, I wonder if you can contact our tech for help or not?? A remote access such as VNC or Teamviewer. Then our tech will check online for the problem. We never met this problem before, it is a quite new one.

For the problem with Hikvision 2MP IP camera ups the CPU usage to 100%, we also need your help to offer a remote access if possible. By the way, IP cameras requires the CPU to decode, this will take large CPU usage when you add IP cameras. We suggested a Dual Core 2.4 GHz CPU can decode 4 2MP IPC or 8 Mega pixel IPC or 12-16 D1 IPCs.

For your problem with I7 processor and WIN 7 OS, our tech will need to check on the computer to find out what happened. Here we tested with 6225 motherboard installed WIN 7 both 32 bit system and 64 bit system also, all worked properly for long times, so could you please contact our tech for help??

If you got your products&software from a dealer, please contact them, they will contact us for help, and we will fix the problems asap.

    Best Regards,

  21. What is the recommended pc specifications for a 32 channel dvr using DG4216hf dvr cards?

    Hi There,

For a 32 Ch with DG4216HF cards system, I suggest the following configuration:

    Motherboard: Intel 945GC or above

CPU: Intel Dual Core 2.6 GHz or above

    RAM: 2G or above

Graphic card: ATI is suggested, with 512 MB memery or above.

HDD: It is suggest to use RAID since all 32 channels are DG4216HF with D1 recording. If CIF recording, normal SATA HDD will be enough.

By the way, Windows XP is prefered, if you want to install Win 7, please log in the system with "Administrator", that would make sure the operation from the software will not be refused.

    Best Regards.
