  1. Hi Brandon,

For the effective distance for RS232 protocol cable problem, maybe different material have different effect, sorry if I made the mistake.

You can use multi-POS if you have enough COM ports, but I have to say, right now less and less new motherboards have COM ports with them, I don't understand why you want to use COM connection but never TCP / IP even TCP / IP has advantage in making up the system, and more easily to transmit data.

Guys who didn't make this to work correctly would because the COM ports connection were not established, due to the cable/ or the COM port is used by other program/ or the COM port refused the visit from the DVR Server software.

    Please check!

  2. Hi there,

To work with Multi-POS systems in one DVR Server software, you have to use the NC-Series devices, also have to use the TCP / IP connection mode, but never COM / RS232 connection. Because the software can only use 1 COM / RS232 port to commucate with the POS machine, can not recognize any more COM / RS232 ports at the same time.

    Thanks.

    Hi William,

At last --- i tend to believe what you are saying --- although it is very different to what numerous people at your offices have said.

Thanks --- just confirm that for me please! You cannot connect ,multiple serial POS systems via RS485/RS232 to the serial ports of the DVR, you must always use the TCP/IP connection method.

I know that RS232 is essentially a one device communication protocol. Some of our guys have used RS232/RS485 converters and got the system as far as displaying the POS data ---- but rebooting the DVR every time they press enter on the POS.

My other brand of standalone dvr from Taiwan makes use of a serial gateway that handles 4 POS at once up to a maximum of 16 ,on a single port via RS232/RS485 conversion. I am a little cautious of synchronization issues in that setup though as the dvr polls each port sequentially.

    Hi Brandon,

Sorry for the mistake I made, it is suggest to use a NC-Series device to convert the COM(RS232) to TCP / IP due to the distance between the POS machine and the DVR Server. You know COM(RS232) can only transffer 1 meter or less, this would be difficult to make up the system.

You can use more than 1 COM port at the same time to connect to the DVR Server software, but there are less COM ports or no COM ports on the motherboard, this is the tendency, so if possible, please refer to NC-Series devices to convert.

    Thank you!

  4. Help required with the POS function of the netvision dvr.

Our integrators have seemed to grasp the concept of TCP/IP POS quite well ---- but they are all battling to get this to work via serial.

Has anybody achieved multiple POS integration using serial coms on the netvision DVR? What problems where experienced and how where they resolved?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

For Multi-POS integration with TCP/IP, you have to work with the NC-Series devices to convert through COM(COM port data from POS machine) to network(a RJ45 port to connect to the HUB/Router to transffer data), here I make a pic to show how to set the multi-POS system.

By the way, right now, Multi-POS Playback at the same time is supported, up to 4 channels at the same time.

Thanks and you can PM me if you have any problems.

  5. hello perhaps be the most knowledgeable and buy your software in Spain, my dealer had told me that there was no license for these cameras so you can only see my dealer know your software only runs me leave, I accompany a screen for you see that translating to Spanish, certainly wonder the persolizar copyfile for the program.

    thanks

    Hi there,

I'm not sure what you want. But thanks for the support. The Netvision software does support to be translated to other language. If you want to do it, please PM me.

  6. Hi i have some doubts about netvision software:

    1. When i work with a mix system the IP Cameras is positioned at the last channels,is it possible to configurate it to fix the ip cameras at the firs chanels ?

2.Is there any posibility to buy a license to use IP Cameras diferents of Hikvision with this software (for example : Vivotek, or similars) that allows record.

3 From the 5.xx version the file system is managed by DiskImage program and search funtion is not too fast, is there any solution for it.

4 In the Iphone app named Net PCDrviewer I can run the Remote Search funtion, is it a reported issue?

    Thank a lot.

    Dear Sir,

    For your problems,

    1. Yes, Netvision software does work that way, because DVR Server software is designed to work with capture/compression card, IP devices support is designed for a mix system. when your system work with both card and IP cameras, DVR Server software will detect capture/compression card at first then add IP devices, then the IP devices will be positioned at the last channels.

    2. Of course this feature is supported. License file only contains valid channels for IP devices, it doesn't care which brand/model the IP device is. The only matter you have to notice is that the IP devices you want to work with Netvision software must be supported. By now Netvision software supports AXIS/ACTI/SONY/SANYO/VIVOTEK/ARECONTVISION/CAMTRON and so on, you can refer to http://www.netvisiondvr.com/Partners.asp for details.

    3. For this problem, it is a problem if you have a very big record HDD, then I think you have to refer to a new function of Netvision software called "Fast Playback", this program allows you to search for the record data for a special channel at an appointed date. It will be useful for you.

    4. Net PCDvrViewer App does support remote search to a PC based DVR Server software, this is real, not reported, many customers are working with it now.

    Best Regards.

  7. Thanks for your reply edselrt, I been looking the settings up and down, back and forward and I can't find it anywhere.

I checked my copy of the software and looks like there is no setting to turn it on or off . My software automatically overwrites the recording though

The netvision software does support auto overwrite recorded files, or set the days for keeping the recorded video, please see attach.

    Best Regards.

  8. Hello guys, I been testing Netvision for sometime and one feature that I can't find is the auto overwrite recorded files. It's because the software doesn't support that feature?

  9. That card does look very similar. Unfortunately netvision guy seems to have gone a bit quiet, he's not answering my PMs and apparently I'm not entitled to send him an email!

Don't suppose anyone has a login for the 'downlaod' [sic] area do they?

This forum still doesn't work on my mac.

Sorry, Toothsome, I did PM you immediately when I got your PM. But maybe you didn't get it. I sent a PM to you just now, can you please check?

  10. hi! I've purchased and installed an 8ch analog H.264 capture card, and also have a couple of IP cameras.

All works fine, but the trouble is, the bundled software is awful, and also won't remotely view on a mac. It's a home install so I'm hoping not to spend too much on software (Sub 100 hopefully!). Can someone recommend which software they would / do use in this scenario? My wishlist is:

    - Runs on Windows XP

    - Viewer / JPEG stream for Mac & iPhone

    - Local record, data backup to network drive

    - Usual stuff (motion detection / view selection etc)

    - As few bugs as possible, and in proper English!

There seem to be so many poorly written software variants (i've already downloaded half a dozen) so I'm thinking surely there must be a 'go to' application that would tick these five boxes?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

The netvision software can reach your target.

There are DVR Server and NVR Client, both support Windows 2000 / 2003 / XP / VISTA / 7

Simple client software running on MAC OS, also support iPhone/iPad/Blackberry/Android and other smart phones.

Local record, remote search, Network backup system to backup recorded data to other PC

Motion, Sensor, Video Loss alarm are supported

    Finally, it is stable.

You can refer to http://www.netvisiondvr.com for details.

  11. Maybe you can try to delete all the corresponding ActiveX and dlls in system 32 and Downloaded Program Files. Then, delete cookies and re-install the ActiveX and dlls to get video.

Click View->Source in IE interface to find something like "codebase/NetVideoActiveX_V23.cab" (the example here is the EM-DVR), and then download the cab file. In this way, you can find out "the corresponding ActiveX and dlls". Copy them to system32 to replace all the old dlls and then delete all. Please be sure don't move your mouse after the dlls are replaced. So that you can delete all the corresponding dlls quickly.

    Good luck.

  12. Wow, a whole 720P?

That's still less than a megapixel. There are dozens of systems that support megapixel IP cameras up to 16MP or more. I am serious too.

    Next?

I was talking about stand alone DVR. Fcw11 was looking for stand alone DVRs record higher than D1. I only wanted to offer him a choice.

In some situation, one can't use a PC to install software, he can only use an EM-DVR. That's why IP cameras are supported in some new products. But I think 16MP is useless here. Not always the higher, the better.

  13. Hi,

Maybe you can ask your supplier for help. Many supplier can convert only the several data types supported by their owns. You mentioned H.264 here. However, some have their own H.264-that's not standard.

We can do all the functions you demanded. But the video type you mentioned may not be supported. Besides, the convert and combine function are integrated in our software, which may be not convenient to you.

  14. Specific question.

Has anyone used the Hikvision 42xx cards with their midi card (the matrix card)? We have had a world of problems, and without them using the words "yeh, they don't work together" we get the feeling that they ehhhh don't work together.

Yes, the MD card (matrix card) will not work with their 42XX cards and Megapixel IP cameras.

But we solved this problem using our software. With our software, you can decode any products from Hikvsion and some other famous IP cameras, like Axis, Arecontvision and Mobotix etc.

  15. Look like price of Dahua VEC1604FB is better than GV-1480 http://www.aliexpress.com/product-gs/294749331-16ch-DVR-Card-with-s-w-and-SDK-VEC1604FB--wholesalers.html , I don`t know is this original or clone card but this people said it is original with dahua original software or skyvision....

I checked the link. They used the pirated version of our software once. We have copyright protection technique in our software. If anyone meets any issues when using the pirated version, we will accept no responsibility.

In fact, Dahua card works well and stable. But I will not recommend you to purchase from the link.

  16. Hi Paul,

I am so sorry that we gave you no answer because we had to confirm you were one of our customers but you didn't answer the mail of our sale. You can playback the last event via "instant playback" when you single-right-click on the main interface. The maximum time can be 8 minutes. The way is much easier to operate. I mean, you don't have to enter Playback to search the last event.

  17. I don't think a motion detector is necessary. Most softwares can give you valid alarm information when there is motion detected in the video. In our software, you can even get email, SMS, log information and video pop up etc when motion alarm is triggered. How to get valid alarm information? Adjust sensitivity is only one of the ways. Besides, you can draw an area and adjust a suitable threshold. And you can set motion detection remotely, even via WAN.

The card Birdman Adam mentioned there, is mostly used for watch dog function. There is no need to pay for it though it's not expensive.

  18. Update:

Well, no joy in getting the iPhone running. Install was easy, and we opened the the 8015 port on the system and the router. But the connection just fails.

According to my experience with iPhone, you have to download and install a program from iPhone App store. Of course, the program is offered by your software supplier. If the program has not passed by iPhone and put on App store, no connection will be supported.

But if one's iPhone is a cheap copy one, he can copy the program directly to his "iPhone" and connect to PC-DVR. No need download from App store.
