  1. hi,

can you link to a few that you've used. it sounds like it may be good for my attic as I need to use one on each side where I have a gable that I could possible cut a hole/etc in.

these cameras can survive the heat/cold?

    thanks.

You can get 3MP covert cameras where only maybe a 1/2" hole shows, the rest of the camera can be in the attic. Let me know if you want more details. We use them on commercial projects inside entry dialers in communities and nobody has a clue there's a camera in there.

  2. what are you using the system for? just lower quality recording and monitoring?

by what i see on their website ... it comes with this camera (qsc1352w). which reads to me that it comes with a power adapter. does not seem like it's poe possible since it's a BNC connector. if you're able to run ethernet wires, you're probably better off getting a POE based system.

    Power Supply 12V DC 500mA

Power Consumption <3W (When LEDs on) per camera

  3. Has anyone used this model? Is it similar to the mini nvr linked? I'm trying to find a model to replace my zmodo nvr controller as alerts/email on it do not function at all so far for motion detection and sending an alert.

    Model NVR1004P

  4. Since it does seem like browser issue now (?). What about clearing/deleting all your IE cached settings? Or login to your PC with a new profile and try IE from a clean profile.

Maybe it's a browser issue with loading the ocx / plugin? Have you tried to put IE into compatibility view settings for the IP of the nvr?

Yes, but unfortunately no change in behaviour. When now trying to reinstall the plugin, I see that the installation procedure hangs at the step "Registering files...". I assume that's the real problem. Rightclick and run as Administrator doesn't solve it.

Anybody who's nvr works with an usb flash drive? Which model do you use?

Then I'm also having troubles getting connected via IE11. Connection hangs right here, without moving anything. The 'NVR Malfunction & Elimination' hints in the quick start guide don't help. Any thoughts?

And last, is there a windows console-application on the CD? I can't tell because not all folders are readable... If yes, it would be very kind if someone could provide it.

  6. Agreed. Their cameras are ok for monitoring quality. But, the NVR needs a lot of work and the interface is very lacking. If their alerts and uploading worked then I would be all set for using it as remote monitoring station.

Update ... DON'T BUY ZMODO IP CAMERAS ... Well nothing has changed, no firmware updates or software updates , I asked for a RMA number to return the goods ( or should I say bad's) but they would not give me one . They didn't even refund me the money for a mini NVR kit with 2x cameras which I ordered and paid for but cancelled because they said that it was not ready yet as it was unstable ! ( well at least they were honest about that ) but they kept the money !

I had the misfortune to order direct from China so returning goods or getting refunds becomes difficult.

I need all these cameras to operate on motion detection so they are useless to me.

I hope this post serves as a warning to others , don't just buy from the spec. sheet, although the video quality was quite good on the ZH-IXA15-WAC, pity i couldn't record it to show you

  7. Hi,

your varifocal camera, have you actually been using it outside in the heat/cold? I see it says operating temperature as " -20 °C ~ 50 °C (-4 °F ~ 122 °F)". I'm looking to use it in the east coast weather outside.

  8. I currently have a Zmodo POE NVR (model ZP-NE14-S) that can't seem to properly do alerting properly. Does anyone know if this will work properly with the Zmodo POE cameras (model ZP-IBH15-S)?

The zmodo works fine for the motion capture and keeps the files small. But, I have not been able to get alerts working. And, their different programs for interfacing with the nvr and cameras is horrendous.

    - emails alerts; prefer being able to upload or attach videos

    - motion capture auto save

Also, as a update to this post, has everyone been getting the same 2-3 mini NVR models? Maybe a wiki or summary page can be created with the links to what everyone has purchased and from where.

    Thanks.
