Are there any standalone dvrs that use software like avermedia
as such with visual search a decent timeline intelligent search .
Also on the remote programs .
Most of the Dvrs i have seen just have a rubbish timeline which in my opinion arn't very good.

I have been using an NV5000 system for a few years without any problems .
Until now.
I have purchased a cheep k guard standalone dvr and the picture quality is far superior to the aver which has freaked me a little at first i thought it maybe the settings on the aver needed to be tweaked a little.
That has not helped.
then i thought it may be the video card i have checked that, it seems OK .
Then i noticed the picture on the CMS remotely was not very clear
which rules out the video card .
Which leaves two components left which are the video card or the computer itself .
Has anyone got ideas .
The picture looks fuzzy not sharp like the kguard.

i am looking to replace my Aver nv5000 card with a standalone system.
Trouble is there are so many makes out there it,s knowing what to go for.
The four i have shortlisted at about £150 are Qvis, hikvision,Kguard xvision.
As you people are the experts what make would you go for.

I need to build a new computer for my Aver NV5000 card.
Any suggestions as to what motherboard to use.
At the moment i am using a gigabyte p8145p-g but am struggling to get
drivers.
Are there any drivers for the nv5000 and windows8?

Just purchased a geovision g600b card.
Running it with a gigabyte 945pg motherboard with 2.8 pentium d cpu
2gb ram & ati x600 video card.
I am disappointed with the quality of picture it seams blurry and hazy compared with the standalone system i have .
I have just replaced my avermedia nv5000 card for the geo as i had a blurry picture with the avermedia thinking the card was at fault.
The standalone unit is a kguard 100fps the picture is nice and clear
I thought the geovision was the dogs,at the moment i am not impressed.
Any ideas what it could be or am i expecting to much
the camera i am using is a baxel with an ernitec power zoom lens.
