I've already talked to them this week, they said they'd have the basketball hoop again in Vegas.

Just use trimese. It has 18/2 for power, cat5 for control, and RG-59 for video.

IDE or SATA shouldn't make any difference, sounds like you have another problem.
-
I agree, sounds like a memory problem. Try taking out a stick of RAM and alternating it with the other one (only 1 stick in at a time) and see if this fixes the problem.
I've built tons of systems with MSI boards and have found them to be very reliable for the most part. Asus is also making good boards at the moment. I agree with VST, Soyo is junk. When buying memory for a system, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to buy very good memory, like Crucial, OCZ, Mushkin or even good Kingston.

The best way is to keep people from disabling your surveillance is to limit their accessibility to your equipment and/or wiring. We actually don't have any wires within the height of a ladder on all of our stuff.

Since a 100Mbps network can only handle 12.5MB per sec, 30fps @ max resolution x 15 cams is going to test the limits, assuming there is not much other network activity on the same LAN.
-
Do you have Gigabit LAN? You should be fine. Depending on your pre-existing network congestion, you will probably be fine. Worst case scenario is you play with resolution/fps.

This is what you need for outdoor: http://www.shireeninc.com/osc/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=29&osCsid=e72a2999e12d61abfdfbc1eee5ef5b1c
No conduit required. Have fun playing with this though, as it (and all effective outdoor Cat5) has a UV Jelly inside the insulation. Nice and sticky.

I have a IK-WB11A, although most of their cameras are the same as far as performance. Decent camera for the price.

You can have Fresnel Zone problems whether the water were there or not...
-
Over water should be fine.... metal buildings and trees are your biggest concerns.
-
I can almost promise you their stuff doesn't do the claimed 30 miles. Their gain isn't high enough.

We don't use any specific brand of wireless. We assemble our own AP's and CPE's from board-level components. I can give a bit more direction once our pantent is fully issued.
-
We actually have a few car dealerships that we are installing on light poles. We are doing wireless setups. Pretty simple installations really.
-
We use Dual 3.6 Xeon's and handle MUCH more than 3 IP devices. In fact, all of our NVR Servers hover around 5-9%.
I think the others are correct. There could be some other stuff running, but it could also be the software you are using to actually view the video streams.

PM me. I can help you.

Are those any better than the Steren compression connectors? I've used those and bought their expensive/proprietary compressor and tossed it after myself and 6 others could not get any to stay on.

On a separate note, I just got an email from ACTi about an upcoming product that they wanted my company's opinion on. They are really innovators, as what they're soon to be releasing hasn't been done before. Pretty exciting-- and good to see a company that isn't standing still.... cough..AXIS...cough..
-
I suppose so long as they let you return it, go ahead.

1/4 Mile might be ok, but they told me they had it up on a 2 mile line of sight installation and the link was horrible.
It was the MiniLink WES system. Mind you, this was second hand, but this experience is actually coming from a CCTV camera manufacturer that was trying to use this in an integration package.
-
I don't see a 6110 on their site?
-
By the way, looking at ACTi's speed domes, the best Lux rating they have is 0.1. Not too good...
-
Microtek is overpriced. I know someone who used them and they were not happy. Really short range too.
