  1. did u figured out the reasons you getting the BSOD ?

I always disable the auto reboot option in the event of BSOD to see what the problem, as hard as it is to figure MS 000000000xe8 crap....

(Right click My Computer>Properties>Advanced> look down for 'Startup and recovery' , click Setting> uncheck the box 'Automatically restart'

I assume both systems have identical hardware, and GV could be the reason for the crashes, but u should confirm its not memory issues or other incompitable hardware first.

Also, check the even log for any system errors. sometimes it can be something really stupid cause way too big deal.

My first bet is that ur RAM is not for your MOBO, but I didnt even checked from ur list, just my guess.

    Good luck

  2. no bro, real time, local machine.

system is working fine for months 24/7, then suddenly I get that. a reboot solves it all. but I cant tell my client 'just reboot' when it happens

system worked fine for 16 months now without any issues.

  3. If you simply need to view real time from remote location the GV800 is all you need. The viewing speed has more to do with your network bandwidth, However, to set it up, you will need to RTFM....

and don't know to which more expensive cards you referring, GV is the best and AFAIK the most expensive card out there.

  4. me again

does anyone here have experience with GV keyboard and joystick?

    I have the setup with GV 1280+ GV-Keyboard V2.0 and the GV-Joystick.

The Joystick is connected to keyboard through the RJ45 jack. The keyboard connected to the NET Card on the system using the provided RJ11 jack.

I have the mcamctrl.exe running on startup, I can connect when the app starts, but after 1-2 days that I didn't connect with the keyboard it gives me "connection fail" untill I restart mcamctrl.exe

    any ideas?

    Thanks.

  5. Hi all,

I have a system where I got 3 times already for no apparent reason "Video Lost" on all 16 Channels. Its a GV 1480 v8.0 and I cant see anything in Windows log or GV system log any tips on what causing this?

The harddrive is full, running on 2.5GB free space always, on separate disk from the OS and GV software.

If I restart the program they all come back to normal recording.

Anyone have any idea what can be the reason?

  6. Ya I got the PTZ Control Panel running but I mean in order to get into the PTZ menu like I would normally issue a 95-preset in order to get into my PTZ camera via the local PTZ controller.

Can I get into the camera menu to make changes to camera settings remotely?

    Thanks.

I don't know about that. I never tried it honestly maybe someone else can chime in about that.

  7. thanks people for the replies. really appreciate this.

the runs are ~450 both, I used the Nuvico CV and they are powered from an Altronix ALTV2416 (24VAC)

@ first I was thinking someone dig and splice my wire (direct burial...) but when we checked for power on the cameras we had proper current.

I already tried the BNC. first thing to blame you know, but it wasn't it.

I located on the recording exactly the time it happens but no reason was captured

anyhow, does anyone know where to get the MicroScanner² Cable Verifier for a good price. seems like I need one of them....badly

  8. Hi all,

I have an install we did where suddenly 2 remote cameras stopped working.

I tested and there is power on both cameras, but no video output on the monitor.

everything used to work fine and then suddenly stopped working. On the recording I can't find any reason why it stopped recording at that time.

is there a tester out there that can tell me how far down the cable run the problem is?

and also, any ideas what can it be?
