I have minimal experience with alibi but I can tell you that Lts provides much better support than hikvision. It's provided by your local dealer and typically pretty prompt. Lts app and software is identical to hik with some rebranding. Another plus is Lts is very good about shipping NVRs with the most current firmware.

Great thanks, Ill have to locate a dealer. Is there a published starting MSRP? for the H4
I figured I would bring this one back from the dead rather than start a new thread. Its been a couple years and technology has changed. Does Avigilon or anyone for that matter make a comparable mobotix replacement? As in onboard storage, good analytics, and vms built into camera?Yes check out Avigilon's ES cameras which have onboard SSD Storage and analytics that work very well.

There is a new-ish system on the market - Xanview. They use an TimeLine (like Facebook/Youtube) to show a viewer the most recent event. Also, it's very easy to find specific footage from the past. www.xanview.comHave you used it? Do they have a US distributor?

I set one up in a food truck once using http://store.mp3car.com/collections/our-products/products/carnetix-cnx-p1900-ver-2-2-dual-output-140-watt-12v-dc-dc-regulator-2
You can set conditions, such as shutdown when voltage drops below 11.5 or shut down one hour after the input is triggered

Im looking for an nvr that has a simple method of viewing the most recent event. Customer wants an audible alert when there is motion than wants to be able to walk over to the tv switch to the nvr input and be able to quickly review the most recent event that triggered the motion. Seems like a no brainer. The method of switching and beginning playback is TBD but ultimately the customer will probably have a mini usb keyboard that would be used to begin playback but they are not going to want to have to scroll around, select times, ect just needs to be a simple one button press that plays the most recent event
I tried to set this up in exacqvision and there exacqReplay feature does not seem like it will work as there is no shortcut key to begin playback. I know mobotix mxcontrol center and possibly there new software can do this but I still want to examine some more options. Any suggestions?
