Could i replace the software on it altogether for a better one?

Its quite buggy at times and i think if i upgrade it, i will get more out of it.

I have, he has not got back to me yet after sending the message a week ago.

Hi, I have a 4 channel DVR and would like to update it's firmware. the problem is, i have no idea what the firmware is. the manufacturer of this DVR is called MVPower. After searching online, i couldn't find there website. All i have is the software version being 1.8.4 115215B9. It's build time was 2014/11/17 which i would think was the last time it was updated.
