  1. questions on the frame rate of mega cam on Aver systems..

How's the frame on live display and the recorded video

What is the recording resolution? 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768?

I have messed with Vivotek cameras and encoder, it seems slow.

  2. If you are viewing it from remote site, it could just be your transmission rate on the DVR settings. Pretty much all of the DVR i have seen have setting usually on network setting to send high to low quality video cross tcp/ip

$150 camera should give you a decent picture

  3. Ok, I'm sure a lot of you guys may have explained on this topic before.

I'm still not clear on this camera spec because a lot of website listed that spec differently

I have seen a lot of website store posting spec of.

    480TVL camera

    NTSC: 510 x 492

Now, usually this NTSC line is on 420 tvl cameras..

Are there rules that you guys goes by when looking at camera specs..

    420tvl 510x492

    540tvl 768 x 494

    ?

I know it's more complex than a TVL..lens, ccd add on features etc..

but i want to keep the topic on TVL

    Thanks

  4. So far the system seems decent, but when we hooked up all 32 cams, the turbo button dissappeared and we are finding the video a bit choppy. May try calling tech support, not sure yet. Overall, its good, but I think the Megapixel cams will make the biggest difference.

Well, maybe it's a resources hog?

What board, chip, ram and video card did u go with?

  5. Got it figured out. The Turbo button doesn't appear until you have cameras connected to it. Pretty decent video quality, and real time. It's actually quite impressive.

Hey 501, you can't view all 32 ch on the main screen and on the rms client side?

How's the transmission rate coming through the rms ?

Can you back up or write avi directly to cd/dvd?

    Have u tested audio quality?

    Thanks

  6. Hey camelwalk i see on your website

    AVerMedia Hybrid 16 Channel DVR KIT 1 x NV5000 Card + 3 x Video Extension Card - 120 FPS

Where's the audio extension card for 4 ch audio?

Where's I/O? for Sensor and Relay?

and where do you make the ptz connections?

forgive me if i'm not asking the right questions.

I haven't build any geo or aver systems yet.. I'm just kind of gathering info rite now.

  7. Thank you for replying.

I have also looked at Avermedia cards NV3000,5000, 7000 etc..

I guess Avermedia doesn't make a low end card with 16ch.

To get 16ch. you have to stack them, am i correct?

which is hard to find a motherboard these days that have 4 pci slots.

  8. I've been surfing around for the cheapest price on geovision card and trying to understand software vs hardware. I'm looking at the low end GV 600 ..4ch 30fps. I'm a bit confused of what version of the card and what software version does it goes with it?

Does Geovision cards works with their latest software? even if the card it's an older version etc?

How do you tell which card is new and old?

I've seen some website that say it comes with version 7.05 and some website says version 8.0

    Please help explain

  9. I will help you out.

Have you ever worked for a cctv company before?

    What experience do you have?

I have a question: What is the difference in view between the 2.8mm, the 4mm, the 6mm, and the 50mm lens? This question is very important.

Based on your answer I can get you started on the fast track.

The bigger the mm is more zoom in.. smaller mm is zoom out.. fix lens are cheaper but veri focal is flexible.. If you can get a cheap veri focal from 2.6 to 12mm with IR for small job, i think it's good.

  10. Sorry, I'm not too sure where to post this.

I've been working for a security computer as a tech for a while now.

I'm thinking about becoming a dealer on my own selling and installing it locally then expand later.

I have never done sales and I don't know how to go about of finding the customers to buy the product.....

I thought of just walk into all stores and talk to the worker-->manager-->*then hope the owner*

about the products and maybe they will buy?

I don't know how do you guys conduct your business?

Please help guide me toward the light

    Thanks
