  1. Yeah I'm hitting my head for not Doing That now I gotta go to half the cameras and change up the wires.. It's a 30amp 18 port.. I'm only using 11 ports.. I've done most of my previous installs using 10amp -20 amp boxes using all ports no problem? But never this long.. Maybe 120feet this install pushing 170-185..and using cat5 for first time..
  2. i see.. so how am i going to figure out what i need. this is driving me nuts.. is 3 185 foot runs and the rest are shorter runs. using 1 twisted pair for pos power and 2 pairs for negative using a 30amp box only 11 ports used.. how come the far cameras are suffering? i thought 185ft is nothing? and 30 amps is enough?
  3. thanks buddy, so i got to power those cameras locally correct?
  4. no just the camera.. and i gave all them enough amperage but still getting the effects of low power. i need to test out the ends of those long runs to see but i assumed 200ft or less is short runs and should have any issues.. What are the effects of low power as you see it? as soon as the irs kicked in the 6-10 cameras went ****ty.. even during the day you can see light vertical lines or just a little blurry pic.. but the closer ones to the dvr have a nice picture..
  5. Hi, How long can I do runs in cat5 CCA and full copper cat5 without power loss? And what's the best guys wall adapters or power supply boxes ? If I'm doing 32 cameras ?
  6. no just the camera.. and i gave all them enough amperage but still getting the effects of low power. i need to test out the ends of those long runs to see but i assumed 200ft or less is short runs and should have any issues.. How did you take that image you posted ?? You can clearly see an image of someone .... So if not behind glass then your other problem is ghosting. its a snapshot of the mobile app live view.. and its the same as if you were to see it on the monitor.. i did the voltage calulator and if thats true im getting way to low voltage on a 180ft run using CCA garbage lol im going to power it closer to the camera and hopefully that resolves the issue.. Qustion though how is that the lower Amps go longer distance than higher amps? you think if i lower the Amps it will get the voltage to the cameras? but then its lower amps and the camera needs at least 700-1000MA?
  7. the other outdoor cameras get better picture but this one is the farthest run..
  8. AHD analog verifocal with about 30-43 ir's ?

2 DVRS ON ONE MODEM? I can't view but 1?

oh yeah that sound about right.. will try that! thanks
  10. Hi guys ok i port forwarded 80 and 34567 to dvr 1 and it works..I tried to port forward the same ports to dvr2 but says " pinhole conflict xxxxx"?? Is it because I can only access one dvr on the modem ?

2 DVRS ON ONE MODEM? I can't view but 1?

Do you mean modem or router? You will need to change the external port numbers for one of the dvr's its all in one the ATT modem/router and the ips on the dvrs are different.. one is 255 and one is 254. on the modem configuration it shows " localhost " and " localhost1" those are the Dvr's. but only none works? anyway to combine both Dvrs as one on an app to view all cameras on one screen? 30 cameras

    I'm going nuts.. Please help

im sorry but this forum isnt helping me at all thats why i have seperate threads.. im just getting laughed at and disrespected with childish remarks.. and ive read many other posts to and i see the same childish remarks and bashing from the supposed " helpers" .. it seems to me like this forum needs a little speach from the moderators to help people without bashing them.. How does starting separate threads resolve that problem in any way? You still have not answered his question so he can help you. im using cat5e , i believe 24gauge and ahd 720p , regular baluns.. i tried the cable and those baluns using 2 200ft test cables at my shop and they should clear images?

  14. did not know that... my first time using cat5 i always used coax solid copper..first time and last time after all this headache with this install

    I'm going nuts.. Please help

Yes im getting paid for this. There is individual cat5 to each camera.. 2 pairs for neg power and 1 pair for pos.. video is blue for pos and blue/white for neg.. basic baluns that i tested out and worked fine with 2 200ft sample wires at the shop.. they are all running to the supply boxes .. one of the boxes 30 amp, has 11 camaeras . the other a 10 amp box has 4 and anopther 10amp box has 6 cameras and the rest on a 8 split wall wart and 3 individual wall warts.. so they all have enough power i assume? but when the irs lit up the picture on a lot of cameras went bad? i turned up the Voltage on the boxes and the pictures did get a little better..

    32ch install nightmare

I've done what they recommend but still have thes issues. Any help would be appreciated buddy.. There are way to many variables... Did you buy quality baluns? Did you replace the junk cable? Have you tested the cameras with the DVR on a short run? Are your ethernet runs direct from the dvr to the camera or did you punch it down somewhere or use a coupler? Are your connections good? I tested 2 cameras on separate 200ft wires with same baluns to the dvr at my shop and thu we're clear pictures.. So the baluns and cables are good.. I'm thinking it's the boxes or Is it becuase all those cables bunched up together? That's 4 pairs of 16 cables near each supply box .. Will all thos wires cause Interference , I mean how Else am I supposed to connect to dvr and ps box unless all are Within feet of Each other ? And all runs are are direct from dvr/box to cameras

  19. one more thing , is cat5e full copper good enough for future installs, or cat 6 or cat6a any better?
  20. thanks to all of you, i will do what you guys have said.. thanks! " title="Applause" />
  21. will do, its my first install with cat5 , now i learned something.. thanks
  22. To use twisted-pair for video, the video must travel through only one twisted-pair. So connect video pos to one wire, and neg to the other. The remaining twisted pair is unused (or you can use the wires for power as well). Use a balun at each end (camera and DVR).This might fix your video problems. You might be able to use copper-clad aluminium for short distances. At least it's not as horrible as copper-clad steel. Full copper is best for CCTV. The camera works without the negative power terminal connected because the camera designer has done a bit of a cheapy, and hasn't used an isolated power supply. The power supply negative is connected to the coax shield inside the camera. Basically you have a ground loop, which could mess up your images. Since you have a spare twisted-pair, you could try using this pair as an extra negative (ground) for the power supply. This might help stop some of the power supply current from travelling through the video twisted pair. So your cable would have: one pair for video one pair for power positive two pairs for power negative. Makes sense, your making me feel a whole lot better today, cant wait to go back and try that out! thanks!
