I should have said this is a Avemia dvr. I want to use just a remote and not a mouse..

First time on this forum.I have installed systems in past for residentual and had no problems setting up dvr till now.Just bought a DVR Model Number DVRJ0423S,everything when well until i tried to use the playback.What i have bought in past had a search button and you could pick events or date and you had it quick.I have tried to come up with a quick playback on this and it has kicked me bad.This is for an elderly women who is getting pranksters at her door at night and i need a quick playback that is easy to do...hope somebody can straighten me out or i need to send this back..thanks
