I found the following with the ICR pro I had: -crashed the first time I tried to download a file -unable to confirm recordings were 30 FPS D1 as output looked CIFy AVIs were CIF only; only bmp pictures could be saved and they were CIF -very unstable on LAN or direct connect; connectivity was usually lost when downloads were tried - to recover, a reboot at the machine was required -video related settings in System Setup overrode the timed and motion recording settings if pre-record was selected -unable to confirm watermarking The above could have been firmware related. BUT - LAN delivered video looked good - the unit ran cool - fan noise was acceptable

The ICR pro does not appear to record at D1. It remains as a CIF machine as noted on the Chinese manufacturer's site. Captured pictures as well as avis are in CIF.

I recently installed a Speco DVR-4TN with the latest firmware and noticed the following when using the Speco Remote software and selecting events from the Search menu: 1. Event video plays the pre-alarm segment but frequently freezes when it gets to the alarm recording. If I use the Central Management Software to play the event, I sometimes just get an image frozen at the time noted on the Search screen. 2. Event video sometimes plays at a faster than normal speed until it reaches the alarm video and then plays ok (for an MPEG 4 recording).. 3. Occasionally the event video plays with some choppiness although recorded at 30 pps.. The above also occurs when I directly connect a computer to the 4TN or access it from the Internet. I also noted similar occurrences using the demo unit found on the specotech site;however, internet lags do contribute to the choppiness. Have other installers/users of the DVR-4TN noticed this? Is this a normal occurrence for MPEG 4 based DVRs? Video plays acceptably if I download the video or play a selection using the software’s Play pull down menu. Thanks for any input.
