Did I post this in the wrong forum area? Just looking for some guidance and feedback.
Thanks

I just purchased a Hikvision 7600 NI 8 channel NVR. I also purchased 4 IP cameras (Hikvision generic cameras).
Here is the NVR I purchased (from ebay)
I have activated the cameras with the Hikvision IVMS software, but when I connect them to the NVR, it does not see them and I do not see anything on the display. I know I am missing a step.
Any suggestions or tips for a total newbie?
TIA

Sorry guys
Initial budget to start is $500-$600. For that I would like to get the 8 channel NVR, and 4 cameras.
Thanks
As usual, we need to know your budget with or without cameras before we can recommend. With an all-in-one NVR, you need to invest in all the channels up front as most are not upgradeable channel wise.
Some NVRs have room for additional hard drives internally and externally for more storage.
The easiest solution is to start off with a packaged 8 channel all-in-one solution IP/POE system with 4 cameras and add more cameras in the future as required...

Thanks guys for the replies and information.
Sounds like the best option is to build a system using a 1080P nvr, and add cameras as I can.
Suggestions for a good quality, 8 channel NVR that will support POE/1080P?
Thanks again

I am looking to install a new POE camera system for our house. I am looking at an 8 channel system, and will most likely need 6 cameras. Trying to stay around $500. What would be the best option?
Thanks
