Hello,When you say the quality is bad, is there any interference, or does it not pick up the sound as you would like?
Omair
Hi Omair, I think it's a bit of both and defo it's because mismatched impedance between the two ends (mic-out/NVR-in)....

Hi guys,
I have a DVR connected to a 12V mic with cat5 cable for live audio: 2 wires for + and - and 2 for audio. The audio works ok but the quality is really bad. I know that with an audio balun adapter the problem will be solved, but is there a cheaper way of doing it?
Cheers,

Hi guys,
I'm trying to know which ports I need to open in my router so as to see my 4 NVR Tiandy model TC-NR1004M7-P1 from the outside.
I can't find anything on the web. I don't want to put NVR IP in DMZ.
Cheers,

you could mount the camera directly onto a box like this if doesn't look out of place on site, any psu's / connections can be fitted inside box.see bottom of page on link for some alternatives.
Thanks Jazzar.
The problem is that almost 20€ each and I have 12 cameras... I'll see If I can get a cheaper box.

Hi guys,
I need to mount 12 dome IP cameras with a diameter of 135mm each. All walls are concrete so I need like a base so as to hide the cables ( ethernet, power, audio, etc).
All bases I can find are slightly smaller, around 120mm.
Any ideas?
square junction boxes of 1000mm won´t look neat. I'm thinking in a rounded junction box of 70mm diameter and mounting the camera right next to it.
PS: all the cables are run through tubes outside the walls.

You cannot split your signal pairs.Orange / orange white for one balun
Green / green white for the other balun
Oh yes....you are totally right.
Cheers!

Hi there,
I just connected another analogue camera over the same UTP and I'm having crosstalk .
I'm using this color code:
Brown: +
Blue: -
Orange: + balun
Green: - balun
Brown white : +
Blue white: -
Orange white: + balun
Green white: - balun
I think that the wires are being touched somewhere?... But I can't tell because is ran inside the wall. Any idea how to fix it without running a new cable?
Cheers,

BUT (now that I've had breakfast & my mind is working) what we are really talking about is TOTAL capability. You have 19 cameras @ 500mA = 9.5A. Power supply is good for 20A. The distribution over the 18 channels is only done by your 18 x 1A fuses. So you should be able to change one fuse to 1.5 or 2 A and run two cameras off it with no problems.Yes, that was my first thought, 9.5A in total. But I thought that each cha could only provide 1A max.
Thanks!

Maybe - it depends on how your power supply is designed. On a simplistic level you have a 20A supply split over 18 channels. That gives a smidgen over 1A / chan. Your cameras require 0.5A each so in theory you could (just) run 2 cameras on one channel but you are sailing close to the wind. The other problem is the built in protection. If it is a fuse per chan then you may need to up the size but if it is PTC protection then you may need to get the soldering iron out. The better way would be to buy a smps to run the 19th cameraThanks for you reply,
Yes, it's a fuse per chan so I can up the size of it. But as you say, I have 1,1A per chan and it's too close.
I'll buy a smps then.

I have a CCTV power supply for 18 cameras and I have 19 cameras to power up. Is it possible to share the 1 power channel with 2 cameras?
Cameras specs: DC 12V / 500 mA each.
Power supply specs: DC 12V, 250W to split in 18 channels (20A)
Thanks,
Ways of making audio quality better on DVR with mic?

This is not the case, bacause we have the same issue in lots of places, which they have different ceilings/floors and mic placement.
