  1. You have tried to use genius vision community edition?

It is free software and can handle up to 16 cam, allows you to do even coffee with your cameras and motion also it works great !!

    Hello, Alberto

I have tried commercial surveillance software costing from 50 dollars to thousands of dollars and, quite frankly, not a single one of the commercial products perform as well or have a better UI than the free software I have gotten with my cameras and NVRs. The free stuff definitely leaves a lot to desire but the paid stuff leaves even more to desire and, on top of that, you had to pay for it.

So I agree with you, patmas; the free software is well worth what we paid for it.

I think we all agree the software, especially the webif, sucks. You have to keep in mind you pay a very modest amount of money for the mini NVR hardware, and you get the software for free. Not really fair to compare that to a commercial piece of software with a price that exceeds that of the Mini NVR hardware. Of course it is much better.

I knew all this before purchasing the device. I just like to try and get the most out of the hardware, and I don't rely on it for anything important (aka a hobby project...).

It would be awesome to opensource (part of) the software. Maybe we could even get stuff like motion or zoneminder to replace the ants application. But this will likely never happen since the kernel modules are probably licensed from the SoC manufacturer (hilink) by Escam (and other mini nvr clone sellers) after signing nda contracts...

  2. From now on I organize myself to make a mini pc with Genius Vision Comunity version.

With this software you handle any camera with an advanced motion system.

The software is a little complex, but rather lose the time with a powerful software with a hardware combination, especially software, poor.

  3. I never lost so much time to the configuration of anything !!

The motion of this machine is wrong and never go.

The motion is not related to onvif protocol or to the fact that it is implemented in the camera.

NVR is the software that I have to do and this nvr it does !!

it is useless to appeal to the fact that the manufacturers do not follow to the letter the onvif protocol.

I have a DVR on which I connected two simple analog cameras and motion works perfectly because the cameras do not have the motion but only because the DVR has in motion !!

It is useless to tell me that with what it costs this NVR has a free software. This is the result, I spend for an hardware that, given its free software does not do what it should, so in the end I have a little box unusable.

I predict that soon there will be hundreds of on ebay for sale of these nvr used.

Before you sell this NVR and before time savings.

    Who spends less spends more.

  4. Good evening everyone.

I add a further message to this useless thread.

Useless because it solves or settled only 0.001% of the problems of all of us.

There is little to say: These machines can not do what they should.

it is useless to appeal to the fact that manufacturers of cameras to customize how their protocol onvif.

Just try any type of permit management software IP video cameras to be able to fully control them, including the fateful motion.

I speak of Genius Vision: find the cam onvif imposed immediately and more areas of motio and everything works the first time.

Not much else to say except:

needless to throw money (AND TIME) for these phantom mini NVR put into different boxes but with the same common problems.

The design of these NVR is wrong to base

    Alberto

  5. I bought this NVR:

    www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01410VCT2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

In the description it says N6100-8EHP/48 !!

The version currently installed on my NVR V4.0 [20150124]

Trying to check on http://www.urcctvstore.com/Download.html not find a firmware for this model.

Does anyone know where to download?

I have two dome Foscam 9298P-V2 but it seems to work on motion detection.

Does anyone know if this problem is solved?

    Thanks, Alberto

  6. Good morning,

    I bought this nvr:

    http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01410VCT2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

    In the description there N6100-8EHP/48

    It may an NVR N6200-8EHP / 48 instead N6100-8EHP/48 ?

In system info of my NVR I see: V4.0 [20150124]

There is a new firmware for this nvr?

    Another question on the configuration.

In the network settings have two nic.

I configured the nic of lan (nic2) with 10.0.0.60

I configured the nic of the cam (nic2) with 10.10.0.1

As the IP address is assigned to the cam?

I have to assign the IP address manually or automatically assigned to each NVR network 10.10.0.x?

    Thanks, Alberto
