    Are the Nuvico Products good?

l am using the 16 ch xg new model by nuvico it is very good except that it does not support dynamic ip,as per specs, like the older model, customer support is not very good at all(always in meetings). Also tec support told me to set up a dns for mapping if l wanted to see over the internet without checking for the changed ip adress. anybody with instructions to do this would be appreciated.Basically l need to check in and see from a remote location (my pc) to the site (dvr with dynamic ip -cable modem)
  2. l am looking for best value linux based dvr w/rmote view connected to a cable modem, no router and l want to be able to cd-w or dvd-w. l would need at least 250-320 gig hd.l need good record playback quality and decent speed. thanks for any recommendations as their are a lot out there.ie new panasonic 300 model, kalatel storesafe pro etc. Based on my specs what would l need? or any other suggestions or systems!!!!
  3. rory,l will give you a temporary password to login to the bar if you can download the nuvico viewing software,l have to make a change to my password as l tried to rest it and it needed 4 numbers instead of the three l put in.tomorrow friday l will give you the login inf so you can see it live day and night.l dont know where you can get the software maybe at the nuvico website?
  4. the bar is the golden rail pub in new brunswick, rutgers university.l just did the install myself l was confident enough to do it after reading these forums.it came out well,16 ch nuvico xg 400gig hd 5 cameras so far but i will get someone to install 2 outside cameras.l used powered cable with twist on bncs.l bought 3 different cameras 1-panasonic 924,bosch dome xt and one more l forgot the name off hand.basically l was able to focus the cameras using a small tv monitor, however l didnt make any camers adjustments except the focus, picture seems ok though, any suggestions on camera settings would be grateful.

    re:looping output

thanks guys, so it is used mainly in a bigger setup!!
  9. how does this feature work? you have the camera inputs but what are these outputs used for in relation to camera viewing?l basically just plug camera into inputs and then use bnc out to the monitor to view,l have never really understood the loop output and how it can be used.

  12. l have a slight problem, l saved my images streamed over the internet into windows media player as avi file, however it could not burn to cd encountered problem with compression. How do l get to burn to cd so that someone could watch it on digital player or a computer.Do i have to convert it to a dvc format or different file format?or even change the codec l am using the 4 ch intellicamusa dvr http://www.intellicamusa.com Any help would be great as this was the first time attempting to save video.
  13. l know this isnt exactly cctv however you guys are far more knowledgable than most.I have a bar that has eleven direct tv recievers that are modulated co l can watch any recieiver channel on any tv.I want to connect a dvd player to play comedy sketches of classic movies ie porkys, old school, comedians etc in between playing dj music.l want the dj to be able to switch all my tvs to the dvd player with one switch (not to go to each tv and change the channel) and then be able to switch back and play regular cds at the dj booth. The skits will be about a minute long every half hour or so.l am not sure how to do this ,maybe an a/b switch at the dj booth and some sort of switcher at the combiner or modulator??? Any help would be appreciated or any contacts or links to people who know would be appreciated.
