Ur problem is u need to use the external IP address yo view ur cameras remotely. not the address 192.168.1.whatever. plug ur laptop into ur router and goto WHAT IS MY IP ADDRESS. put that number onto ur phone ipad etc and the port. the 192.168.1. whatever is ur LAN. that's what u want to view on ur desktop http://192.168.0.1:3777

if u want to view license plates. u need to point specific camera at that location and having the lense to zoom in on it, or have a 5 MP IP. then again u can have a pan and tilt watchdog camera with built in illumnation which will cost u. that u can zoom a 1/4 mile away.what u get is what u pay for in USA

I am considering purchasing a home security camera, maybe more than one. I would like a Nest camera but right now don't have the extra money to buy a Nest. I see on eBay many wireless home security cameras from China in the $25 price range. They look like Nest cameras or a little different but say they have the same or similar features. Does anyone know if these are worth buying? I don't know the manufacturer or model numbers. I have contacted the sellers to ask for this info but am waiting for responses.I would like to have one or two for inside the house and one for outside to keep an eye on my dog who has figured out a way to get out of the back yard.I can't caught him doing it yet. I just have to track him down and let him back in the yard.
I set up a Nest camera for a neighbor and am impressed with it. I just can't afford one of those at this time.
Any feedback anyone can provide me with would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

if u took over a system from another owner and do not know use and password. U need to call the alarm company and they can call the maufacturer and reset with mac address below or behind DVR. its security measure. If u are the owner. U can talk to tech support urself see if they can help. Panasonic is not commonly used by alarm company.
