  1. The first thing that came to my mind was to use a flooded category 5e cable using some of NVT's products.
  2. It could be easily done with a wireless video/audio sender off the video/monitor output of the dvr. Not a good way to do it because of security (or the lack thereof) issues. A remote desktop using 802.11x would also work just fine. Clarity could be an issue, but it would work. Actually, many police forces have high speed internet in their squad cars. If that was the case, then it is just a matter of giving them whatever access you wanted them to have. Using a web client they could just then log in. I know a city near me has high speed access capability including fairly large monitors in all thier squad cars. Another option is what you saw was staged for television.

    Scope camera

Sounds good to me. I have no problem if admin wants to delete this thread. I never got what I was looking for anyway. Maybe I should have asked for a camera that would fit on the end of a telescope so I can view the beautiful expanse of the heavens. Would that be more politically correct? The reality of it is there are many more threads on this forum that could be more harmful than asking about a scope camera. It doesn't take much creativity to take the information we share and use it for detrimental purposes. Should the whole forum be taken down then? I don't think so. There's probably more harm done on this board to individuals by trade secrets and pricing that are given out than this thread. Just my .02 Like I said, "kill" this post, but I'm not going to eat it!

    Scope camera

My application has nothing to do with a gun at all. Period. I want to be able to use a rangefinder type device and be able to record the field of view including crosshairs as well as display information shown. I repeat, my application has NOTHING to do with a gun. Damn you people are uptight. I have no desire to remotely control anything except for my television and garage door. The only reason I even mentioned live-shot was because it was brought up in a different thread and was the closest thing to the application I was looking for. Group hug??

Please show me where I'm threatening anybody.
  6. My video camera has video inputs. I adapt the video signal so I can view it right through the display.

    Scope camera

I'm sorry but give me a break. Sound like we should shut down this whole forum because somebody might learn something that could be used wrong. Hello, we are dealing with surveillance. How is a scope mounted cam going to aid somebody to do wrong. It's whole heck of a lot easier to just look down a scope and pull the trigger than mount a camera to it and do it through a monitor. Sorry, but I thing you are way off base on this one.
  8. Sorry, brain dead moment. I dont' have it with me right now but I'm pretty sure it's blue.

Well if the situation got to that point you've got bigger problems than me gnawing on your arm! If his is what you are referring to as a threat. Get real. I never said I was going to shoot anybody. I was just saying that if you follow the logic, the only way I'd be eating you was if I shot you. Period. I never said I was going to shoot anybody. Show me where I did. I even put the laughing dude at the end of the sentence. I was laughing with you. 9/11 or not, you people are acting wacky on this one. Go back and read the thread. There's nothing malitious about this thread at all. If you are really as concerned about this stuff as you say you are, you need to go back to every wireless camera thread, digital recording thread, and basically every thread about surveillance and post a disclaimer on each and every thread. If you don't then lay off. Petition to get this forum shut down if you are really so worried.
  10. On the card itself is the following number "C113-C 0405ABB6" There's a sticker that has the following number "401668700152" All chips are black.

I have no ill intentions. More interested in the ability to take feed off of a scope like device or telescope type instrument and feed it into a monitor. By the way, I'm not a hunter but I have nothing against hunting. Just eat what you kill.
  12. It looks like a 123cctv card after looking at it. It's definately an avermedia card. The card is a four channel with an expansion deal for an extra four cameras. I guess the short answer is I don't know what model.
  13. same can be said for windows .. why the darn serial number darnit!! and why do they keep trying to make it longer and longer and longer ... Yeah, but windows isn't selling a hardware device that will only work with their product. I assume it's to keep people from using pirated cards, but still. I would never use avermedia just because I'd have to keep serial numbers straight!

    Scope camera

I'm talking about a camera that can be actually mounted to the end of the scope so that what is being viewed in the scope including crosshairs can be viewed.
  15. What is the smallest bullet style (lipstick) camera out there that has a 1/3" ccd and color?

    bnc screw on.

What crimp on connectors do you use?
  17. XXX

    bnc screw on.

Maybe I just never gave them a fair shake. I just don't see how a fixed (BNC barrel) part can consistently and securely connect to a variable (cable sheath, size, texture, etc.). That's OK, my logic has been known to be flawed! I've come across more than one crimp on connector where video was lost where the center conductor was twisted during installation and eventually broke. Then again, I've seen horrible crimp connections as well. Rory, how do you put connectors on with one hand? Another flaw I guess is that I'm not afraid of heights. Probably not a good thing!

    bnc screw on.

If you're going to be doing a lot of installs or anything you have to service in the future I highly recommend against using twist on connectors. Get a good pair of crimpers and two-peice connectors. You'll thank me later.

I have yet to see an auxiliary output on a card that gave a decent picture at all. S-video, RCA, whatever.
