  1. I have a Linux DVR system with "Eyelinker" remote software. Basically a thick client which gives me functionality of the DVR system remotele. The software appears to only support an IP address for remote viewing.

     

    I set up DynDNS successfully - works great. The intention of course to save some dollars from a static IP. I set up DynDNS in the router so it knows to update the service when the WAN ip changes. In short, I am good to go with my hostname.

     

    I can access the DVR remotely if I use the dynamic IP entry in EyeLinker, but of course the problem is that IP changes.

     

    Has anyone used Eyelinker? Can it work with a hostname instead? If not, is there a different remote access s/w package that I can use as an alternative?
