Try to check arlo system. It has got two way communication, you can talk to the cam and all. What I don't like about it is the cloud subscription. But it has a local storage option. You can read more about it online.

I think this should help since there would be a lot of things to consider and to explore. The arlo pro can be very useful at times but it's got flaws too -.-

nice one stefan. thanks for sharing!! I found this and all of them are actually white, lol!!!. but am pretty sure with the piper and canary having other color though. it's weird that i now find it weird that most cams are actually white.haha

+1 on the Lorex. We used to have arlo pro wireless cam. It seemed great at first, the night vision, talk to cam feature, but we had problems with the batteries after few months.

This is the stupidest thing ever. I don't understand it. I thought the idea was for cameras to be stealthy and not obvious. You can't hide a white camera. If someone's determined to get into your house or break into your car, they will see the camera and will do their best to hide their face completely defeating the purpose of the camera (to catch thieves off guard).Does anyone have any explanation for this profound stupidity?
I've seen black cameras like Piper NV and Canary. But didn't notice any camouflage ones though. lol and +1 on tomcctv. What color do you exactly want by the way?

Hey folks,I want a minimum 8 channel system - 4 indoor, 4 outdoor, potentially 16 for stupid ideas.
I am looking at a Lorex system - wireless/wired hybrid or a Hikvision package.
Question - is there any reason NOT to get a hybrid system? Do the wireless cams from Lorex perform as well as Nest, Arlo, Piper, canary, etc.?
Question - if the cost difference is not an issue, is Hikvision more of a cult choice than say Lorex?
I do not need anything crazy, just video, storage, and email.
Arlo has got a back up option, and agree with TheF too. if u're not into cables, wifi cams are your best option.
Arlo is over priced .... never own anything ..... ... the lorex system op posted is cheaper and will own it.
Ha! I've also read about that before. I think it's a good option too. Best of luck on your purchaseeee!

Ok i have a 3 year old Qsee home camera system thats on the fritz, figure i would upgrade, but i want a system that is easily monitored by phone apps, not the ancient way Qsee wrote their program from 1995. Is there a home camera system that sets up easily with apps? I have all my BNC cables from my qsee already installed so i dont want to crawl up in the attic at 110 degrees and replace them. I also don't want wifi cameras to bog down my internet speed. I'm looking for another dvr system for around 4-600 bucks, 8 channel.thanks
We've been using arlo pro. Requires only 1mbps..
Please suggest a system
