  1. Interesting. On top of that, what if the video footage was slowed down? As in the seconds do not match the realtime seconds.

Hi it would not match realtime ... as your only altering footage speed.

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean. If I have security footage which does not match up with real time (as in it's a bit slower) does this mean someone purposefully slowed it down?

    Thanks.

  2. most cameras record on motion. So it could just be that there is no motion in the missing time frame. Could also be a glitch, could also be someone removed footage. Unless you have access to the recording device you dont really know for sure.

Interesting. On top of that, what if the video footage was slowed down? As in the seconds do not match the realtime seconds. Is this normal for security cams? Or would this be further sign of some sort of tampering?

Also I noticed I posted this in the residential security cams section instead of the regular one.

    Thanks for the help.

  3. Hello, I was wondering if when a time skip occurs in security camera footage it's due to tampering by someone or a glitch/problem in the recording? For example if the time randomly jumps from 1:09 to 2 minutes would this be a definite sign that someone removed a section of the footage.

What I'm talking about isn't when viewing live, but after (for example a company) provides part of their recorded security footage.

I'm not asking personally, and am wondering which is more likely. Sorry if this question would be obvious, I'm a bit new to this stuff.

    Thanks, help much appreciated!
