    HIKVision DS-9016HQHI-SH Issues

Same Opinion like Ozymandias... Completely wrong NVR for this kind of project. Its a hybrid recorder but setup with IP cameras. A quick look in the datasheet said that the incoming bandwith is just 260 Mbits. I calculated with 32 IP cams, Full HD, 25F/s and 4096 Kbps Bitrate = 182 Mbits. There is not so much space left for the viewer. Normally you find in the datasheet also the outgoing bandwith, but here not whats kinda weird. Do you check as well the dvr has the newest firmware. You can find it here: ftp://ftp.hikvisioneurope.com/Product%20Firmware/Back-ends/Recorder/DVR/Turbo%201.0%20DS-7100%207200%207300%208100%209100HGHI%20HQHI%20HUHI/V3.3.4_Build170220/ Also the client software that you are using is two years old. Check out if some new client software the things getting better http://www.hikvision.com/en/Tools_84.html

    Question on DVR replacement.

Just replace the DVR with some kind of hybrid DVR which is capable of using your "old" cameras and also able to use new HD cameras without changing the cable. Its called Turbo HD Technology from Hikvision. Just have a look... For example: http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries.aspx?c_kind=1&c_kind2=103&c_kind3=364&id=6432

Connect video to a remote panel

Simply no! The only way to get the images out of the recorder is with RTSP Just read the manual and search for RTSP. Maybe the BCS will support that to. You cant control anything but just to watch the live view https://delta.poznan.pl/pdf/hybro__i_en.pdf

    DVR set up

If you have an manual about the dvr, please read the instructions. sometime you must activate the hdmi port in the interface. maybe you try to reset the dvr to factory defaults. Normally there should be a button on back of the back of the dvr. but the procedure how to reset differs from dvr to dvr. maybe just hold is it for some seconds and look on the monitor what happens. normally you cant destroy the vga interface that way...
  7. Dont think about stuff like this... Just invest some bugs more and buy some proper hikvision or dahua nvr. Believe me the more money is worth it....

    How To Decide Which DVR

Go with Hikvision or Dahua. They have serveral technologies using HD /1080P or 4K though Coax. On Hikvision its called HDTVI and on Dahua HDCVI. Maybe you heard about AHD which is quite the same. They have also some VMS Software to manage multiple DVR at the same time and the price is ok. Personally i used Hikvision. Because some of their DVR are Hybrid, called Turo DVR. So you can use HDTVI, HDCVI, AHD and IP on the same recorder. For example: http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries_364_i6272.html

    playback is jurky/laggy

How do watch the recorded videos. Are there a monitor connected or you watching through network with a computer. Do you record on motion or 24/7? Give us some more information...
  10. It really difficult to say... You want to watch all cams live though internet connection? Or just one or two? You know already witch software you want to use for the remote connection. Give me more details... UPDATE: I did some calculations with a bandwith calculator based on your screenshot With this calculation you will need minimum 6 MBit Upload. But remember, you choose CIF(352x288) Resolution which is very low and you will not get a good quality of the picture. to watch it on a mobile device should it be enough. But when you are able to get more upload, take it. UPDATE 2: When you change you settings to only 12 Frames/S, VBR instead of CBR you can get 4CIF (704x576) with 23 Mbit Upload.
  11. A short look in the datasheet of the camera will tell you that you can record directly on a server. Support microSD/SDHC/SDXC card (128G) local storage, NAS (NFS,SMB/CIFS), ANR So if you has a NFS or SMB Server running you can directly record on that. The big problem with that solution is that when something happens it makes it very difficult to analyze the data. Because you dont have a graphical gui to jump forward and backward through your recording. You have to open every file an look if there something happens. Im not very into this kind of recording but i can imagine that the camera will save the files named with date and time. There are also some nice tools from hikvision to calculate your diskspace http://www.hikvision.com/en/Tools_82.html

CCTV setup help for local network

Hello Tommie, there are a lot of questions about your project. But first I need to tell you that your version of dsm and surveillance station outdated. The first thing you need to do is to update your System. When we talk about system, which diskstation model do you use? Is important to know because there are a lot of models with different capabilities, like how much ip cameras they can handle. The synology surveillance system is license based. That means that for every camera you want to install you need a license from synology that cost money. For the questions about the cameras you need to be more detailed what you want to cover.

    can't configure new DVR

Is your Phone connected to wifi like the same network with your router or your try it from "outside" via mobile data?
  14. If you take a look at the actual firmware name "NVR_K41_BL_EN_STD_V3.4.95_170626" the EN means Englisch Language. The other file "NVR_K41_BL_ML_STD_V3.4.95_170626" ML stands for Multilanguage. If you try it with the EN Version you cant do something wrong.
  15. If you read the release notes of the newest update you will see that your nvr is supported to be updated. Just save the configuration over the browser and try to update. Of course it can happen that you brick your device. Maybe you do the update step by step. I updated a lot of hikvision dvr and had never a problem. The thing that you mentioned with hdd can be a hardware problem with nvr but also a software one. Just try it
  16. I traveled a lot with CCTV equipment through Europe and there was just one check where there want to open me the bag. I think they just have a problem when it looks new, because of the customs and tax. I removed everything from the original package and just put the camera inside my luggage between my clothes. Maybe it was so easy because it was inside europe.
