    Both systems are available on amazon for $300 or less with hard drive and wiring. And I'm aware they wont be great systems and are more of a harry homeowner type. I have plenty of flood lights and locks. I just didn't know if you had any other recommendations for this price range. It sounds like anything I want in this range will be about the same quality so I will just go for the LaView if no one has any other recommendation.

    To start off I will say a POE system seems out of my budget since I am looking for an 8 camera system.

     

    I have narrowed my choice to the following and would appreciate any insight on which one you guys think is best. Both are roughly $300. I think Laview might be a better brand but in reviewing the specs on each, the LaView DVR says something about 1080p on efficient mode, not sure what that means and if it is a true 1080p.
