I am using an HikVision NVR DS-7808N-SNH with 4 IP cameras and 1 HDD WD purple series of 2TB
The problem is that with the specified HDD installed the NVR started to act strange: long boot time, around 10 minutes, freezing entering menu, turning off the recording on cameras. I have reinitialized the HDD but the problem persists. I have replaced that HDD with another one and all is ok but if I check the WD HDD on a PC I don't have any errors reported.
I had the same problem last year and it disappeared when I have changed the HDD used then with the WD HDD from now. The old HDD is reported good also.
I understand that a drive can be faulty and it can break in 12 months but the strange thing is that it is reported ok so, even that it is still in warranty i cannot change it. Also, when i try to format it using the NVR it takes way too long to finish it. Longer than it used to take when it was new.
