Don't want to get any light masking the camera view in the dark as they're going to be about 700mm apart, or do they need to be further away from each other?

Another question please, I've the Swann cctv system and the jointers between the camera and the main cable don't seem to be waterproof. The power lead is a tight fit but the cc lead is metal and just a loose twist fitting. Anything I can to make them more suitable for external use? Thanks
