So, Hikvision seems to only support corridor mode (image rotation) while in “monitor” VCA mode, but smart events cannot be used. 
 

Can anyone recommend a 8MP camera that can rotate the image and support smart events? Prefer turrets or dome, but not too picky. Need 2.8mm and would like integrated mic and speaker. 

Can somebody point me to the best thread or forum for information about the new Hikvision apartment intercoms.

We have an old Siedle 2-wire audio system and would like to move away from Siedle.

We have CAT5 to each apartment, which is being used for phone and ethernet.

Specifically, I'm looking for information about how flexible the Hikvison solution is for retrofit applications.

Best case, I would like to setup a VLAN over the existing CAT5 and use a POE wall plug to power the indoor units. If not possible, then I'd like the indoor units to go to the cloud, if Hikvision offers this. Lastly, if the indoor units can use a private wireless network, we could do that.
