Do you have any ideas on verifying if an IP camera is streaming a MJPEG, MPEG4, or H.264 video via Internet? Is there a handy software as viewer for testing this? rgds, dove

If there is a management software for security device, e.g. ip camera, alarm, access control, etc, what features your customers would like to have? Particularly, those not yet found in market. Could you share with me your experience? Rgds, Dove

There are many choices achieving the same functions, Axis is just one of them and probably best and most expensive one. Anyway, if you're planning your business, I think you can explore what your local customers want and choose those most competitive solutions.

Developing an IP Camera viewer based on SDK
chanyickwai replied to chanyickwai's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Collin, I do like your idea. However, having studies those material for a while, I found manufacturers do provide API on Microsoft platforms, e.g. Axis on MS C++, VB .Net, Imagia OCX, C, etc.... I guess Java is not impossible, but much more effort required to go into every nitty-gritty about the video streaming, and control to the remote camera probably impossible without the corresponding API developed by camera manufacturers. mulitcast ip video solution
chanyickwai replied to chanyickwai's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
John, Thanks for your sharing. I am with you. But here I feel a bit confusing that if multicast can only offer by network providers? As the router and switches actually provided by them. If they don't support, multicast video can't pass through. Am I correct? Rgds, dove -

I am just wondering if you messed up things. You said you can view on internal network, right? What are the ip address of your pc and dvr under this circumstances? can you post it out for clarity? Then, you said webport, is there somewhere in the router calling virtual server? or you know webport just name the same thing in router? Let's fix it step by step. rgds, dove -
