  1. I am wondering what knowledges and skills are required if I want to develop a viewer for ip cameras? Will you have any resource could be shared? Of course, I am not gonna develop one for sales, but just thinking of through this practice, understand this part of works more. tks, dove

    There are many choices achieving the same functions, Axis is just one of them and probably best and most expensive one. Anyway, if you're planning your business, I think you can explore what your local customers want and choose those most competitive solutions.
  5. Collin, I do like your idea. However, having studies those material for a while, I found manufacturers do provide API on Microsoft platforms, e.g. Axis on MS C++, VB .Net, Imagia OCX, C, etc.... I guess Java is not impossible, but much more effort required to go into every nitty-gritty about the video streaming, and control to the remote camera probably impossible without the corresponding API developed by camera manufacturers.     John, No, not there a specific problem for me. But just thinking, head counting is particularly tricky, if the analytics can count really satisfactorily, this analytics is great and worth being considered. rgds, dove

    John, Thanks for your sharing. I am with you. But here I feel a bit confusing that if multicast can only offer by network providers? As the router and switches actually provided by them. If they don't support, multicast video can't pass through. Am I correct? Rgds, dove

  23. I am just wondering if you messed up things. You said you can view on internal network, right? What are the ip address of your pc and dvr under this circumstances? can you post it out for clarity? Then, you said webport, is there somewhere in the router calling virtual server? or you know webport just name the same thing in router? Let's fix it step by step. rgds, dove
