  1. ok, just got a response back from arecont with the firmware ...... it's just a link (just guess it's pretty simple)
  2. can someone get me the latest firmware for a AV3100M, don't get any response from Arecont ! Arecont: CCTV installers are not stupid ..... And btw: have a look at different ways of updating firmware (I have an IT background) and most IT systems will still work if the upgrade fails ..... Just have a look at manufactures of PC-motherboards, they all know how to do it without risk !

Changing ports on Control Center -> failes to start !

above did solve it, according to Geovison the service would not lauch if the port is already in use .....
  7. Vista and 8.2: I changed the default ports on the DVR for Control Center (3389, 5613, 5553). Control center and remote desktop both fail to start ! (only viewlog runs). Even after full system restart. Need to this so I can control multiple DVR's behind 1 WAN-IP. Any idea's ?

Changing ports on Control Center -> failes to start !

oeps did not notice the 3389=remote desktop ! (will try a different one). Kensplace: if I change the numbers on the DVR the service will not even start (I know I have to change it in CC as well). dcam: what port numbers did you change: all 3 ? and do you remember witch value's you used. It look like a bug because the service should start even with port conflicts !

what flavor of Vista to use with Geo 8.2

...... XP works, but Vista works as well. Running a 1480 card, 1gb with Vista (16 cam's), dual core pentium: 60-70% CPU. Using almost all cpu intensive options in Geovision. Just a standared pc, runs perfect. AND .... better image quality! (tested exact same system on xp and Vista). Vista runs very well with Geovison. Witch version: anything (only one I did not test is the Home version).

Controlling multiple cameras on GV Net Card

fully agree: not being able to use index search is a MAJOR miss in functionality (only DVR): that feature saves a lot of time and should be available remote (remote view, control center).

    Geovision website integration

I have been researching this and can't find a decent solution. What I want: - integrate live streams from geovison into a website. Without loading the active-x stuff. So a small java-applet that would load a play a preset camera (with a preset quality and size ...). - no borders, etc ... just simple box that streams the cam. Kind a like the SimpleVue program but then for a website. (already tried to do it via tfp, but does not work fast enough only a few frame's/sec and buggy ....). This way you could integrate camera's beautifully into customers website's.

    PTZ RS485 on Geovison setup

baudrate used to be selectable in previous version, not anymore. Why ... beats me. PTZ is not easy to setup for the first time and not that well explained. Presets .... probably the camera (not fully supporting the protocol ....) Other questions: start reading the manual or look at the demo on the geovision website (all is possible).

    PTZ RS485 on Geovison setup

use pelco-d ptz protocol Pelco protocol is always minus 1 in geovision. So dome is address 1 -> geovison use: 0 If geovision recognize the card it's normally ok. You can check the lines with a meter (are the twisted pairs !?). I/O protocol means you use the output relais to move a PTZ unit (not that easy btw ...). Don't recommend it, much easier to use a converter.

    PTZ RS485 on Geovison setup

Your camera needs to support a RS485 protocol for dome's (eg Pelco ....). Judging from the connectors it does not because it has seperate Zoom, focus connectors. p.s. did you map the protocol to the camera ? (map ptz menu) otherwise it will not work anyhow. + is + and - is - Only option is then to use the I/O ptotocol from the protocol list.
