And I happen to have a brand new in the box Sanyo in the classifieds section for cheaponly reason for parting with it is because of the purchase of a couple of WV-cp484's
Yeah I saw that, but I have nowhere to put it myself, nore any housing or lens
Can't help you with the lens, and don't even talk to me about housings! I have dealt with 3 different "Professional" companies and each one has tried to pull a fast one.
The first one offered an Indoor housing as Indoor/Outdoor
The second one said he was selling Pelco Housings and turned out they were "Pelco Like"
The third one offered an IP66 rated housing to only then try to switch me to their "House Brand" because they don't have the IP66 housings in stock, and tried to tell me that their no name housing was IP66 rated, when their website shows no rating.
The said part is that 2 of the vendors are on here!
I have had better luck from people OUTSIDE the CCTV industry then in it
Don't feel bad, the Alarm Industry is about the same. Everyone out for a buck, and no one caring about reputation.
You should call those vendors out so that we can be sure to stay away from them. No need to protect bad vendors. They have to learn that if you are going to try to pull a fast one people will know about it. It would surely help consumers like me.

Which would be your choice of cable in this type of manufacturing enviroment? Cable runs will be about 250'.

I'm suprised no one has answered your question since there are alot of people that favor the IC dvr's. I guess the camera's aren't that great from the lack of responses.

I remember 10 years ago when sony had produced a consumer camcorder that had the ability to see through clothing. It was through one of their video scenes that you could switch on, like seppia or something like that. But they quickly fixed that and nothing was heard about it again for awhile. Now this feature is finally being put to use after all these years.

The ICRealtime and Intellicam were on my short list of dedicated systems but knowing that they cant play reverse will put them out of contention.
At this day in age it should be a standard, heck even my cable box dvr can play video backwards.

Thank you so much rory.

"I have looked at the intellicam and icrealtime units, and they look great. However, the ability to play the video in reverse is another must have feature, something that both of those units aren't capable of to my knowledge. "
Can someone verify if this is true? I would think that all dvr's should have this feature.

Is it true with the intellicam system you cant watch the video in reverse or something like that? I read it in another post. I will try to find it again.
-
Would a video card with 512mb be overkill for this system?
-
Thanks for clearing me up Rory.

I think I found the answer in another post. Please tell me if i'm wrong. Motion detection is by software so if the dvr has the feature it should do it right?
-
I dont know if I want a dedicated system or pc based yet.

I apologize if this question is stupid but I have no experience with security camera's and the systems. When setting up a security system do the camera's have a built in motion detector or do you have to buy a seperate module so that it will trigger the camera to record?

Great info, P40X will be on my list of cams to use.

Please PM your source too.

Hello guys, I plan on building a 8 channel system with the NV6240. Following Aver's hardware recommendation what would be the best video card for this system? What kind of video cards are you guys using for a similiar build.

Rory,
Thanks for taking the time to review these cameras, it really helps DIY'ers
such as myself without first hand knowledge avoid bad camera's. Your just like a older brother, always watching out. Unfortunately I cant see any pics at the end of the review, all i see are red x's.
What is the better camera the Nuvico CB-SD3895N-L or the Eclipse ECL-596? Both have good reviews. I cant make up my mind on these two camera's.
