  1. Hi All , bit of a shot in the dark .. got one of these units and everything works , except the hard drive ... it goes to boot then powers down , goes to boot then powers down etc ... I check the menu for the hard drive and it has no ID ( Cant be seen or mounted I am assuming ) ...anyway I have a spare PC drive and replaced it with that and the same thing occurs .... any ideas ??. Tried to contact Cnm but they dosnt seem to exist now ... unless someone has a contact ?? ... Checked the boards and all the pots seem fine also ? so I am stuck in the middle of technology unless someone can help or has a spare board or ???

    anyway any help appreciated

note : the original drive was a seagate and without jumpers ... have spoken to seagate and they say as it was an OEM piece of kit they cant help .....Mmmm stuck again .

  2. Hi , \I have managed to solve this , although the DVR gave me 192.168.000.009

I can only view by 192.168.0.9 hence the issue

Now that I can see this I have already port forwarding for other items on ports 80 and 9000 in the router ... so If I change the DVR to 88 and media to 9000 and save and restart I am able to view via the LAN ? If I change the DVR TO 9001 I am no longer able to view via lan this is despite rebooting everything . I need to change this otherwise there be a conflict AND the router wont allow me to dedicate this port as its already taken anyway ... similarly I have opened ports 88 both for port forwarding and triggering for this DVR on the router now , restarting and using a port checker it says that the ports are closed still ... This may be because of the 9000 port not being configured ... but how can this be done if I loose the LAN connection when changing the port on the DVR ? Puzzled !!

  3. Hi , Firstly , My set up is fine and I can see an existing DVR and slingboxes internally and externally OK .

I have brought home a H.264 basic DVR that basicaly works ok as it stands , but when I try to set it up on the LAN I cant seem to find or see it

I have set it back to factory reset and it gives me

192 168.001.223 but when I ping it , its not there

I do always restart after any setting change , but I should see it ? I am wondering f in fact the DVR has a fault ... how can I easily check this ?

I have set up DVRs before , but I am falling at the fist fence with this one ...anyone have a check list I could follow to see what the issue is ... apart from this the camera and DVR ar fine if I just want to watch the monitor (lol )

  4. Hi , I cannot get activex to either install or to find it to download manually .. for my CENOS DVR I have done a search for it but dont seem to get that either any help appreciated ...what I get is :

    type Status report

    message /custom/Cenos/TSWebClient_EN_SetUp.exe

  5. Hi I have a DVR that required a firmware upgrade ( as suggested by the manufacturers )

and they forwarded be with instructions to follow ... I did this and although the DVR recognised the upgrade and rebooted itself it took me tothe log in screen and no more . I reported back to the manufacturers the results and they sent me new file. Again I followed exactly what they suggested and again the DVR upgraded rebooted but only bck to the welcome screen ?

since then I have contacted them for further support and they no longer respond . I have tried both files again on several occassions , but nothing else happens . Is there anything else I can do to enable me to get this unit going The DVR is KONGTOP model 7604ED

Does anyone have the skills ( or no someone) to look at these firmware files to see what the issue is ?

    regards all

  6. Hi can anyone help....

Set up a DVR and checked portforwrading requirements

Set and checked with IP ports are correct and open

Set up DVR checked DHCP and checked configoration details , and made a note

    restarted

    changed DVR to static

    checked configuration made notes

    restarted

Checked configuration , and restarted again to see if there are any chabes

    all ok

I ping DVR and all packets received ok

Use browser and can locate and see DVR on PC and also all the camera pictures

Ask IP provider if they can see the DVR externally via the router and they confirm they can

I go to work try the IP address of the DVR and it cannot connect , further delving tells me the dvr will not accept the connection ( or words to the effect)

    THE DVR settings are :

    Media : 09000

    Web Port : 8080

    IP 192 168.000.102

    Subnet 255.255.255.000

    Gateway 192.168.000.001

    DNS1 192 168 000 001

    DNS2 000.000.000.000

    UPNP: ON

The only thing I do see is that the router shows DVR at 192 168.0.102 , where the DVR says 000.102 .. I cant change this

What else could you suggest I do to find the issue with this DVR .... ?? It has worked well before but cannot for my life get to the problem this time

    any help really apreciated

    regards

    Paul

  7. Since writing this I note you need to put a : and name the ports... ie :8080 after the DVRS IP address .

Whilst this has allowed me to download the plug in .. IE 11 will not allow the installation ( despite saying its installed ) and continues to ask for the download and installtion when restarting or after computer reboot ? I have downloaded the plug in to the Desktop and I can open the DVR using this method ... but why isnt 11 allowing this ? the old IEs worked fine ... any help appreciated

    regards

  8. Hi, I had this all going once but its now stopped since a power outage . Anyway

this is what I have done so far :

Checked the LAN and router can see it ( yes)

checked the dhcp and static Ip settings ( restarting each time ) and setting it to static , made not of settings are equal ( which they were)

checked the port 80 ( no go) so changed the DVR t0 8080 and the router portforwrading to 8080 and using canyou see me checked the port and it says OK .

I can also ping the cameras and each time is a success

when I type in IE the ip address of the DVR it will not connect it says :

The remote device or resource wont accept the connection?

when I get troubleshooter to dig deeper and produce reports I get : #

At this point I am at a loss what to do next as in theory I should be downloading the activex to view the cameras

Could anyone spare the time just to go through some settings with me to see what the issue is please ?

    Kind regards

  9. Hi, trying to set up a DVR with the help of my ISP ... done the static side and the port forwarding .... and also I can do a ping test either connected to the router by cable or wirelessly and all packets received Ok ..... when I go to Internet Explorer 11 ( I am running 8.1 ) I type in the DVR address and Explorer asks if its Ok to run the software , I say yes , but it then says the app is not available and for me to check in the apps store ? what should happen is that it should install the software to view the DVR .... I do have the software on a CD so installed it manually , but still I get the same message ... any ideas ???

  10. Hi , I seem to have so much trouble in setting up my DVR .... so I have reset it ... checked the DHPC addresses and then changed it to static ( making sure the details remain the same ) .. I then reboot and check again

when I use the IP address of the DVR on the LAN ( making sure I am plugged in to router and not wireless) I get ..the remote device or resource wont accept connection . If I ping the address I get four hits and no missed packages ? ..... any Ideas please

  11. Hi all ...........Partial success .... I did like you suggested set up a fresh gmail address and tried but it failed ...done this several times but still no go then re entered the data again into DVR and then restarted ....then it worked ...checked gmail account and saw a picture .... HOWEVER been working outside today in front of all the cameras ...expected to see loads of pics on gmail but just saw the first one that was sent?

the other issue is that I tried to look at the recordings from the laptop ... and it finds the day and shows all the times of all the movements ...but when I ask it to play Explorer stops ? .... I get this when I check for further info :

Any ideas on what is going on ?

    Read our privacy statement online:

  12. Hi , I have recently set up a DVR in its working fine, and can gain remote access etc .. within the setup it says I can get the DVR to send pictures as and when movement is detected however the manual is rather vague as to how to do this

Firstly I have an AOL account ( America Online )

The DVR is asking for the following fields to be completed

    SSL ( On or Off)

    SMTP PORT ( Normally 25? )

    SMTP ( Server address? )

SEND EMAIL ( I assume this is my email address? )

SEND PW ( Must be password )

RECV EMAIL ( Not sure is this the same as my email address for the picture ? )

    Any help appreciated

  13. I managed to set this up once and had it all working ... then one time I went to log in remotely and nothing .....so

I bought a new D link router and got D link tech support to help set it up for me .......This we did succesfully and all was ok for a week , then it went off .... so back to dlink and they assisted again .and we went through all the port forwarding scenario again after resetting both the DVR and router back to factory condition ....with all this effort D link couldn't get it going ..... I have carried on for a few days and checking and rechecking everything , I have managed to see the dvr and cameras on the internal address, and if I type in the external IP I can also see the DVR and cameras ....so you would think all is well .... but when I go to try outside the house I am unable to access the dvr or cameras ??

If I ping from outside the house from work I get 100% replies ... I asked Dlink to check and they cannot access either ? .... I have checked the security of the browser, the security settings etc ... but cannot seem to nail the issue

The router I first started with ( now disconnected at DLINK,s request was DIR 605L... The one I am now using is a spare I had in the draw is a DLINK DI 524 ...and it seems fine I am port forwarding on 80 and 0900 and the rules were set up with Dlink help so there should be no issues here ...I have good internet signals or issues .... I also better mention the signal comes into the house to a virgin media router ....which again with dlinks help was disabled to use a modem only ie straight through signal to the DI 524

I have also spoken to Virgin to ask if they could run a check on the line to see if any ports or indeed anything is in place to block ports and signals ...they confirm after testing no ... and advise that as their router is now in effect a modem there is no way that this can be effected ....

After all this and the ability to view the dvr and cameras ....I CANT LOG IN REMOTELY !!!! ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY .....WHY !!!! any help or guidance appreciated

    regards

    Paul

  14. you will need to portforward or DMZ to make it work

    use - http://www.canyouseeme.org/

To check the ports you need are open

remember port80 is blocked by a lot of broadband providers so move this in the DVR to another port

Hi Ran this software and it confirms "success" I can see you and no ports are blocked

(I was al;ready using port 81 ) ....I have gone online to day and checked the internal IP for the cameras and they are stable and Ok ...checked the DVR to make sure there is no errors in the email for dns and passwords and also logged in to the dnsserver to check the account .... I did all this yet if I run other software it says either unreachable or that the server wont accept ? so I have sent them an email to see if they can see any issues ....failing that I will have to change servers ....can you recomend any free ones that will allow set up and work immediatly \??

    regards

    Paul

  15. I am about to give up .... set up dvr and link direct to router ...get lan address and ip address ...set up dvr to show dynamic , note readings save it and restart .... check figures again ...then set to static and note readings and compare , if they agree ping dvr ...all ok start IE and enter ip address and bingo cameras ... set up port forarding and dmz and set dvr to dynamic ( This is my system ) and point dvr to my dns address (already set up) ....but no cameras

check out router over many nights to check all ok but no luck so I then buy another router a DLINK DIR 605L Router .... turn my router to modem mode ( Its a virgin media super hub) ....and then set up the DLINK in front of it .....I now have a router that I have full contol over .... I set up as before ... check the cameras internally Bingo all ok ....go to check on remote view ....nothing ..... just spins at the router address (dosthilldvr.flashserv.net ) I havent done any portfowarding rules on the new router ( basically as its new and I am not sure what I am doing ) ,,,... Yet speaking with DLINK who helped set up the connection says that it should be automatic ( but so was the setup procedure and that took 70 minutes on the telephone to get it going ) anyway ....I am going to bed ....had enough !!!

  16. Hi, Yes I am already port 81 .... and I specify this in the address .... I have been trying to read around the problem and it would seem that despite having set up the port forwarding and DNS the router can still change its ip address ( public and local ) I now am not sure myself so any ideas greatfully appreciated ....When I go back into the router via cmd and config/all everything is the same ...when I go to the router direct ...same again ...yet something has changed the Ip of the camera is the same, so is the dns address so it must be the router somehow ?

    regards

  17. You probably need to use a dynamic address service. You port forward your dvr addresses in your router and use either

    http://www.noip.com/

    http://dyn.com/dns/

Check and see if your dvr already has a dynamic service or two assigned in it. For instance, q-see offers it's own service. But you're losing remote viewing because your public IP address is changing every so often, so you need to use dynamic address service. At least, I'm guessing that's what's going on.

Hi thanks for the info, Yes I am already doing this .... I set up the router and then the dvr under the static setups I then ping and loacte dvr , then go into explorer and open the dvr cameras ... I then change the DVR to dns and put in the dns address etc ..... This was all working this afternoon, and now tonight nothing ? I have checked the IP address of the router and DVR and they are the same as they were earlier ....BUT NO CAMERAS ??? Something must be changing but what ?
