  1. andy how does that make any sense? i have a V2 box and i have it connected with DB25 and have dipswitches set to parrellel printer prints fine just no data capture at the Geo system, i have talked to the owner about a serial printer he said he'll giv me sum time to try this out and worst comes to worst get a serial.

This has been done before the guy that installed the POS system has seen it work with a V2 box

  2. Ok as we all know geovision tech support has their head were the sun dont shine. here is the setup

DB25 into GV-Data Capture Box from POS

DB25 out of GV- Data Capture Box into Parralell Port Epson Reciept Printer

1 Pair Cat. 5 From GV-Data Capture Box to GV-Net Card in DVR

Out of GV-Net Card into Com Port on DVR

I setup the pos in the GV system made sure i set to parrellel port and Epson made sure text was writing to screen applied and still no text captured i even checked the logs and nothing.

I get a power light on my GV-net card but never any TX RX lights im thinking this is the problem, this is the first POS i setup with Geovision and its not looking fun compared to others.

  4. Sound Great Larry i have been on this site for a while now and i cant stop learning we have been in business for 20 years and i dont think any classes or books can help anyone out more than this forum can keep up the great work.

  5. Played around with centerV and it has the option to only view and record motion im guessing that would help out with the bandwidth problem, What type of internet connection would you use if you were in this situation, i was thinking that even my cable connection would be sufficient.

  6. some will be scheduled and others will be recorded live on my server and also on thier side. clients all range from the 4 - 16 camera range and one with 32 cameras.

Any one that has ever used Center V2 and Dispatch Server, please give me some FYI on how it actually works do i need both dispatch server and Center V2 to accomplish this mission?

  7. i was thinking more along the lines of an IRC Chat room there are plenty of free sources for code and it wouldnt cost the site a penny and would be a good way for techs to communicate on the job when they are trying to troubleshoot.

  8. Remember most of the bandwidth i will be using will be DL not UL also i can also attach to a shared T1 with another NIC so i dont think it would be too much of a problem, figure 10-15 clients have live recording the others would be storage.

How about a 6Mbit cable connection?
