  1. I hope you have good luck with them.I'm just not a fan of ir in a dome camera.
  2. I'm really starting to like the Hikvision cameras over the dahua. I don't see these on their site though.
  3. I'm looking at two different dome cameras. One has 700TVL Sony Effio-P /SuperHAD II WDR Dome CCTV - 42IR - IR CUT - 2.8-12mm and the other has 700TVL Sony SuperHAD II CCD / Nextchip DSP Dome CCTV - 36IR - 2.8-12mm No IR Cut. The price difference is 42.00.
  4. You would have to compare the specs to see if there is any advantage..
  5. I would suggest you get an nvr just for the mere fact of being able to go back and review footage for whatever reason and not just that one snapshot that you get on your phone. There is always a leading up to and after the fact that you also need to concern yourself with.
  6. I thought of going the pc route, but for the money that i can get a nvr for,it turned into a no brainer!
  7. I'm another fan of going with non ir cameras and either using standard lighting, motion lighting or external ir.
  8. Why not try the ESC-HDB3200C 2mp non-ir dome cam. It's gotten good reviews and can be had for around 150.00.
  9. Looks great to me.Glad you're coming over to the DARK SIDE!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I thought that was weird also that you would design a poe dvr in 4,8 and 16 channels but only have 4 ports be poe!

    Salvage Dell Dimension 2200

Alrighty. Thanks guys for your advice.I'm just gonna grab a nvr and be done with it.
  12. I have my old original Dell Dimension 2200 that i bought back in 2003 sitting in my basement doing nothing.I would like to use this desktop to do bench testing of cctv equipment. It's one of those Dell mini towers. It's got a 1.3 GHz Intel Celeron Processor. Is it feasible to upgrade the components in this tower or should i just junk it?
  13. Where can i find atleast a 2 arm mount that mounts on top of or on the side of a brick building like what we see the cameras mounted to on top of the Wal-marts.I would like to mount two cameras on something like a tee instead of having to mount two cameras separate.

    Outside cameras small office building.

It's Colorado so i would definitely need heated and cooled enclosures. The exterior of the building/parking lot is well lit.
  15. One of my friends is leasing a single level office building. The building has single row parking on all four sides.Building is rectangular shaped. Two long sides are around 80' and the ends are 50'.He asked me about a surveillance system and gave him the suggestion of going all ip.Right now he's looking at 5 domes for the entrance and inside hallways. For the outside he's looking at 4 more cams. One covering the entrance exterior/front parking row, then one each covering the other 3 sides of the building. For the exterior cams covering the sides of the buildings/parking would you guys use ip bullets or ip box cams in heated/cooled enclosures? I told him ip box cams in enclosures but he's worried about the cost.Exterior wall cams will be just for general view of parking areas.

    Mobile system - help

If you want stealth you're gonna have to drill holes.
  17. I would use them.Less headache from an inspector..
  18. Okay so i'm interested in the Gadspot GS9214DE 1.3 Megapixel outdoor dome cameras. The specs say that they have built in 802.3af compliant poe. Right now my network consist of my cable modem and a Netgear 5 port (1 Wan,4 Lan) gigabit wireless router.I want to run four of these cameras on a Dahua 3204 NVR. So am i correct in thinking is that all i need is the 4 cameras, and the NVR? Plug the 4 cameras into the NVR then run a cat5 line from NVR to my router?
  19. The HFW3200C is a sweet cam,it's just out of my current budget.I returned my Netgear router and picked up a new D-Link 3000 so we'll see how this one does.

    Help! effio 700

Unfortunately, when ordering cameras off of ebay, you never really know what you're going to get.Depending on your budget, i would put a little extra money aside and buy a.camera or cameras that are of a kown brand but easy on the pocket such as Dahua. This way you can at least purchase them from a reliable retailer and get a warranty.
  22. I remember someone else recommending the cam-box mounts due to the fire inspector stating that in the case of a fire, the firemen have to pull down the ceiling tiles, and they don't want the cameras falling out and hitting them in the head.Great design especially for $7.00!!
