Have you used Microtek before?
-
Yes, exactly what I'm talking about. Specifically the 5.8ghz WES product.
-
Anybody use Microtek Wireless solutions? Any thoughts? I'm looking to hook up about 12 wireless cameras and there stuff is pretty impressive for the money.
-
Thanks Doug, thats exactly what I'm looking for! Helps take care of the "messy" look.

The problem is that I really don't fully understand the system, I'm trying to help them over the phone. He bought a monitor and quad from me but if I understand right, the RJ-11 comes from the camera and plugs into the monitor. I'm wondering if its some proprietary type equipment/hookup. He is trying to make it work so that the RJ-11, converts to BNC to go into the Quad.
I should have more info tomorrow, maybe even have the equipment in front of me.
-
This is an example, could you cut the RJ-11 plug off, use the wires and connect to this?
-
Kinda hard to explain

I have access to a Cat5 video balun that takes Cat5 and turns it into BNC Male. But it also has the option of plugging a Cat5 plug into the one end and off the other end it accepts screw down wire terminals. So if the video feed on the RJ-11 was only on 2 wires, can't I go into the screw down terminal, which turn into a Cat5 plug, then into the balun, and out to BNC?
Here is the order:
2 Wire Screw Down Terminal ------- Cat5 Male ---------Cat5 female (end of balun)------------BNC Male (other end of balun)
Does my english make sense? LOL. Would this work?

I'm looking for a converter that will allow me to take the telephone type jack plug and convert them into a BNC plug. Somebody mentioned the word "Haystack"?
Any info?
-
HAHAHAHAHAHA, they said "VHS"
Wouldn't you think they would implement something about incorporating a digital recording device?

Does anybody know if Pro Video PCI cards (Taiwan Based Company, not US Pro Video) will work with AMD? I thought I read somewhere that alot of PC cards don't work well with AMD.
Has anybody used the Pro Video cards? Any good? Bad?

It would be to seal the bnc/rca connection and the dc power jack connection. They would be outdoors, exposed to the weather.
-
Its for a mobile application. The cameras and DVR are mounted on an RV, but periodically there is wifi internet. I would want to be able to broadcast the video signal over the internet. I'm just looking for the best option.
-
I mean, what type of server would work for periodic wireless access?
-
Do they make waterproof connectors? What do you do with a connection that is exposed? Do you shrink tube it?
-
What would you recommend for a mobile application? So for somebody that would have wifi internet periodically and when they did they would want it to be broadcasting.
-
so i can pretty much hook up any web server to the unit as long as there is a video out on the dvr ?
Can you setup a web server without a pc hooked up to it?
-
Can I take a DVR without a network function and hook up a peice of hardware to make it networkable? What options are available?

Some infrareds look red at night and some don't. Is there a way to tell without viewing them in the dark? What are the differences?
-
wear a mask .. then they cant see yahFull face or stockings ?
Its not a big issue. I sell these retail to customers looking to keep an eye on their house locally by flipping to a certain channel or to watch their kids room, backyard, etc. This way its easy for them to install themselves...
Thanks for the help. I love this board...

Yes, I'm referring to couple different wireless camera kits that I sell. They are 1.2ghz and 2.4ghz. I was playing around with recievers and I noticed that 3 differenent recievers picked up the 1 video signal !!! Just wondering if there is a way to block this.
-
So If you have a wireless video camera that transmits via UHF, 900mhz, 2.4ghz, etc, can't anybody hook up a wireless reciever and recieve the signal? Is there a way to protect that video transmission?

overpriced? They seem to be the cheapest in the market so far.
When you say really short range, what does that mean? I've talked to people that have used this in 5 mile range with no problem, I'm only going 1/4 mile at most.
Any direct issues you can comment on?
