Remote Viewing with Network Viewer

Recommended Posts

I am currently working with a company that has installed a DVR4220TN. They are looking to be able to remotely monitor this system. As luck would have it, the system comes with a "Network Viewer" utility. However, as hard as I try, I cannot get this to work.

The setup that they are using is this;

Router = DLink DIR-450 with a Sprint Pantech 500 DataCard

Dvr = DVR4220TN

I have setup Dynamic DNS, and that seems to work as it finds the correct IP address of the router.

Is there anyone out there that has used this "Network Viewer" that could possibly lend me a hand?

When I plug into the router with my pc and set the Network Viewer Ip address to the internal IP of the DVR i can connect, however I get no cameras (the boxes stay black). When I am on the web and try to connect via external IP address I get a "Connecting Failed (IP Address [DDNS Host Name] or CMD port error)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

please set the port forwarding feature of the router . you need to specify what port and what address will it direct the connection in case the port was accessed.
