what has been people's experience with nas boxs - there are a lot of them out there - buffalo, adaptec, aberdeen, overland, etc

You don't really need a ****-ton of processor power on a NAS. Embeded units for small personal LANs might be a bit underpowered for 32+ channels or 16+ megapixel cams but anything intended for enterprise use should have more then enough horsepower.

I have used buffalo dives before and they work good (2TB total storage). I never thought processor power was an issue either.

 

I'm not sure of the other NAS but Buffalo worked great.

the knock ive heard on buffalo is that when they lose power and then regain power they wont restart on their own you have to physically turn the switch back on
