DVR Card / USB Stick for Windows 7

Recommended Posts

Hi guys and gals,

I have just upgraded to Windows 7, and to little surprise my cheap ebay 4 channel DVR card won't work.

The usual suggested drivers won't even install.

I only have the one camera, and I usually have it pointed at a bird feeder anyway, so I don't need great quality or anything.

Any suggestions will be most welcome.

Lots of solutions for just 1 camera, if you don't want to record...

Do you have a TV with Video In (yellow RCA jack)? Plug your camera in there with a BNC to RCA adapter. Choose 'Aux' or 'Game' or 'Video' as the input on the TV.

No yellow jack on the TV? Get a $15.00 to $20.00 RF Modulator from WalMart (or Radio Shack) and run it into the TV as channel 3-4.

Still want to see it on your Win7 computer? Get a video capture card like the Dazzle DVD Recorder Plus (Win7 compatible, $50.00 at Amazon.com) You will likely still need the BNC to RCA adapter.

Adapter is at Radio Shack as #278-250 or E-Bay and Amazon too.

Perhaps I should have explained more.

I used the card to allow me to use an IR CCTV camera as a webcam.

It's pointed at a bird feeder.
