CNB VCM-24VF vs. VBM-24VF

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'm dense. The difference still isn't clear to me...

VCM is Surface/Flush Mount. VBM is Surface Mount, only.

Is the only difference that the VCM has the "back box" between the camera and the wall/ceiling?

Does the VBM require a 3.5" hole for the protrusion to push through?

Yes

No. Neither _require_ it, but you CAN use the VCM without the removable surface mount extension for flush mounting if you want.

Ah, I see. They do have different case configurations (pics below). The VBM does not have the 25x80mm protrusion from the back. I was thinking it did and therefore needed a 3.5" hole to recess it into for surface mount.

Well, after re-reading my answer, the first "yes" might be a "no" (you can't turn the VCM into a VBM by removing the box), but basically they're the same except for the bump on the VCM for "flush"er mounting that gets covered by the surface mount enclosure "box". No bump on the VBM.
