Streaming audio on KPD 677

Recommended Posts

(my third post of the day)

Hi,

Anyone have any idea of the streaming capabilities on KPD677?

I try with IE 8 browser, it only works on playback, not live streaming

also it is sluggish, but maybe that due to my limited internet speed.

but when I try to use the VideoViewer software, it does not give me any option of audio. (even on playback)

anyone has a clue ?

for comparison, the sample demo site from www.avtech.com.tw can do audio live streaming

Thank you,

Maled

it is hardware limitation the demo is for AVC unit not KPD unit

KPD unit in 4CH are the same exact unit as the AVC791A but in 8CH and 16CH never even come close to them they have Limited JPEG web server and 1/4 the system memory you better off buying the real thing AVC798A / 796A unit or buy chine’s unit but never buy KPD in 8 or 16 your unit will quit in 8 month

Damn !

I did not do my homework then before buying these Avtech DVR.

@Roula

is that mean if I have the AVC796A unit, I can do live streaming audio on all channel ?

or any other model that can do live audio streaming ?

what is the outside physical difference of AVC796A and AVC796?

I am thinking to exchange it.

the store i bought the unit might only carry KPD677 and AVC796 ( not sure if it is "A" version or not)

the problem is, the store only know to sell product, they do not know what the machine capable of.

Thanks,

Maled

@Roula

So I have heard, the unit does not have long life.

I installed 3 fan inside the unit, see if that can help.

1. Facing the PCB

2. Facing the HDD

3. exhaust

Yes if you change it for AVC unit you will get audio over internet and over I-phone as well just make sure you do not use WD hard green drive in it or Seagate low power they kill your unit faster

AVC798/796 is the discontinue AVC798A/796A is the new one with mouse

good luck with AVTECH warranty it take them 4-8 weeks to fix your unit they do not give the dealer any part so the reseller have to ship the DVR board back to AVTECH and wait for it to come back AGI security out of IL is the biggest AVTECH Dealer they took 8 weeks to fix one of my customers DVR

Back in the day AVTECH use to be the only real option in low end DVRs now days you could get much better DVR for much less I have moved all my new install for low to mid cost to Rayvision and Icatch much better DVR same cost

@Roula

The Rayvision's website looks professional. but no demo site. and support site is down at the moment

Icatch's website is not convincing. has demo but not very impressive. avtech still looks better.

I will try to find Rayvision for my next project.

Or maybe apply for their distributorship

Thanks,

Maled

I am not is US, but in Indonesia.

I was in US for 8 years, 6 years ago

I can understand the way you think on warranty.

I am saying that reliability is the most important thing in security business than 3 years of warranty but lots of RMA

but I think the good thing about here, most local store/dealer have better repair system.

mostly will have its own technician or will try to get it repair in 1 week.

and labor is cheap...

Well...

local store only carry AVC796 non A version

too bad for me... I am stuck with KPD677

no one carry Rayvision... have not check Icatch

Thanks

Maled
