Completeview Video Recording software?

Recommended Posts

I have a client who has forty cameras spread across three PC's each running capture software with Analog capture cards. The software is called Completeview manufactured by Salient Systems, I'm not sure of the version of the software but they tell me it was installed three years ago. The client wants to be able to view the cameras at this site from the main site where he is located. I'm pretty sure these are stand-alone versions of the software since the network cards are unplugged from the network. Any thoughts as to the amount of work to get remote access to these outside of the obvious lack of network. Remote viewing software or RDP or not doable?

Remote viewing ought to be possible, but the quality of the video, as well as the framerate may not be nice. What kind of internet connection is at the PC's? Specifically, whats the upload speed?

Not sure. They removed the Internet due to uncontrolled surfing.

Is there a client of a client to get to these boxes? As I mentioned it looks like they are stand-alone versions of the software.

I'm wondering if it might be easier to migrate to a dedicated DVR and get away from the PC's with the capture cards which are prone to failure?

I'm certified in Salient. Depending on the version of software, each DVR/NVR can be standalone (Completeview One) or networkable (CompleteView Pro or Enterprise). The license is done by camera (comes with the analog card) and is unrestricted as far as remote clients go.

Each DVR/NVR needs a USB dongle. Are those in place? Where are you located?
