Q-See QT528 and PTZ Cruise (Tour) not working

Recommended Posts

Forum noob, so hi to all.

Got a QT528 recently with the "high res" QSC1352 Cameras and since this is my first system I pretty satisfied with it's capabilities for a "simple" residential setup. The Network access and remote access from my iPhone is working fine but my problems are with the new (and cheap) PTZ camera I bought which works fine in regards to moving to presets, but for the life of me, I can't get the cruise to work....

The camera is apparently a Q-See QSZ515D (but "support" have now denied it's theirs (?)): http://www.q-see.com/products/security-product.php?ProductId=332

Because it's "intelligent", it has a means to internally configure a cruise/tour by calling on a magical preset (#101) that will invoke the camera to move between the presets 1,2,3... 8 (i think, i only have 4), but try to do this from the DVR and - nothing. That is, I setup the Cruise group (1) and assign it my presets, the dwell, the speed, and PREVIEW - nothing. Then SAVE, go back to the PTZ menu on the main screen and test by selecting my Cruise and MOVE - nothing.

Ideally, I'd like to get the DVR to run a Cruise every few minutes (or if that can't be done, trigger it artificially with a periodic alarm input), and just do 1 cycle.

Like some have said, the info on this system is scarce, and the PTZ operation scarcer (!). I asked support if they could show me how to enable the logging for the RS485 commands to the camera, so far i've received silence

Any ideas appreciated, Cheers!
