Security camera wire conduit?

Recommended Posts

I was told that one should install a security camera system with a conduit for the wires so they are not exposed and can't be cut easily.

So I went over to the home depot website and there are many kinds of conduit, which would be a good choice for installing a security system with?

Here's a quick link for the lazy:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?keyword=conduit&selectedCatgry=SEARCH+ALL&langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&Ntpc=1&Ntpr=1

I figure a cheap aluminum conduit like this would do:

http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202316476/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&superSkuId=202891058

But I figured i'd ask here for some advice before i bought some.

I used plastic conduit for my install. It's just to discourage or slow down the perp. Best option is to install above 12ft and hide the wiring.

For me, it depends mainly on the location and the specific requirements. If I'm more concerned with things being watertight, I'll use PVC (the grey plastic) and/or ENT (the corrugated flexible grey plastic). If physical security is more of a concern, then EMT (metal) is the way to go.
