Best night vision IP cameras???

Recommended Posts

Well here's the final results, I'm no expert but I'm very happy with the results (serious dent in my bank balance though).....

Thanks for posting the pics.

What was the "auto slow shutter" set at, I notice the manual specs 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30 (sec.)? Or just set to auto so 1/30 sec?

Hi Mike,

They are the default settings at 1/30

Is that good? I'm still learning about all this.

Cheers

You want as high as possible, which is usually a combination of sensitivity and amount of light. In practice I find 1/30 is as good as 1/60 analog, since there is a larger field of view (plus there is no interlacing like most analog cams have).

If you want to get a feel for it take a DSLR in shutter mode and set it at 1/30s. You'll find with some things (e.g. cars) or things highly zoomed in it is not adequate. For your setup it is fine I'd think. I have mine on the back of the house set at 1/30s. The real test is try walking around at night and see if you can get usable images. If the goal is prosecution I'd also review the number of pixels you need for recognition/identification etc.
