engr.jay08 0 Posted October 2, 2011 Dear all, I am using 48 PTZ american dynamics camera with protocol RS485 control dvr, now I want to shift my cameras to NVR using switch, so I have to add encoder between my analog camera and switch, but I have endura NET5301 T encoder, http://www.puls-global.com/images/2601.jpg and control single for this type of encoder is RS422, so kindly give me the solution that is there any kind of converter which convert my my RS485 control signal from camera to RS422 input for encoder, and kindly tell me that will my system work with it or not, I will be thankful to you Br, Junaid Khan Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
survtech 0 Posted October 3, 2011 For PTZ control, RS422 and RS485 can usually be substituted for each other. The main difference is that RS485 is a bi-directional protocol whereas RS422 is only one way. Not a real difference for PTZ control since that is usually only one way unless the PTZ has audio or you are using the alarm contacts. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
