thewireguys 3 Posted December 13, 2011 Trying to connect to my new supermicro server with IPMI and I can't get it connect with the View software. Anyone have any experience with it? I have a static IP assigned to IPMI in the bios on the same subnet as my test machine and I can not ping it. What's the trick? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
CCTV_Tech 0 Posted December 13, 2011 While not familiar with that hardware, I know networks well. I assume you can ping other things from your test machine? Can other things ping your test machine? Many embedded devices need to be hard powered-down to clear the cached network info and also clear the ethernet switch mac address table. What's between the two devices, hub, switch, crossover cable? thewireguys 3 Posted December 14, 2011 The IPMI runs on the same NIC I am using for my windows network card. The IPMI in the bios will not receive a DHCP but the same NIC in windows works fine. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
