UnderCover 0 Posted February 8, 2012 Hey all- Designing a system for an old school building. There is an area in the basement that is secluded, and has a prime opportunity for delinquency/crime. The ceilings are incredibly low. I am looking for a corner half dome so staff can see the corners, but ideally we want it to be a one-way mirror so that a camera can be mounted behind it. Does this exist?
Soundy 1 Posted February 8, 2012 Don't know about that, but I'd think it wouldn't be hard to install a board camera with a pinhole lens inside the thing. The hole required for it would look like little more than a mark on the mirror (you could even scratch the silver off in a few spots to camouflage the hole)
mike_va 0 Posted February 9, 2012 I thought I read once that one way mirrors would pass IR, so if you had incandescent lighting and a B&W camera you would not need a hole. Would be interesting to try, let us know if you do. I know it works fine with perspex, which appears black.
