IR Illuminators

Hi Everyone,

 

I was wondering if anyone had experience with these. I was wondering what the largest angle of illumination anyone has seen for these. I have seen 30 degress and 45 degress. I'm hoping for something larger. Anyone have any input?

Raytec has some models that go wider. 30deg though is a pretty good compromise, depends what you are trying to do. The distance falls off greatly with increasing angle, they have some useful distance charts. You can get just as much light if not more with a PAR CFL, unless you really want IR.

We have them up to 60º. In fact the ones we carry are manufactured up to 90º, same casings, just the leds have a little bit different angles, so the IR will give you a wider angle in exchange for a shorter distance.
