kagz100 0 Posted July 10, 2012 In my situation we have a mixture of pir and cameras covering the perimeter but I want to integrate both to work together . I understand some concept with PIR but not the networking technical aspect concerning with RS 485 cabling . Im trying to design the network architecture for the pirs and this is where im stuck . I want to know how does one terminate the cable . If there is a device that can terminate the cable from multiple pirs and convert the signal for Ethernet (UTP) use . Securame 0 Posted July 10, 2012 PIRs do not use RS485... You have to connect them to the alarm inputs on your DVR, not on the RS485 port (that one is for controlling PTZ cameras). Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
