Slow Downloads (H.264 Any time Any where)

Recommended Posts

Every time I download a recording from the DVR via LAN (not Internet) to a PC, I'm only getting an average of 2%. This is probably understandable if I'm downloading the recording off site via the Internet, but the DVR is just beside me connected through the local network. I have checked the local network and there are no active data transfers occurring. What could be the problem?

I frequently do data transfers through this network and I get a 99-100% speed.

I'm using a standalone DVR 4channel called H.264 DVR (when viewing on a browser) but I think it's formally called "Any time Any where IP Surveillance for your life".

Oh dear. Poor network speed is my problem too. Your DVR is an Avtech, could you find out the model to see if it's the same as mine?

I'm not sure about the bitrate but it does indicate a "rate". Posted some more screenshots. As for the model.

No idea what model it is. I have to look for the box, horribly made manual, or the receipt at the site if it wasn't thrown away.

Every time I press the download symbol (or what passes as a download symbol), the video continuously plays back. I pressed the stop button just to check if the 1-2% network activity is still there as well as if the local download speed will accelerate. It's still downloading at the same abysmally slow 1-2% pace.

Seeing that this doesn't work, I stopped the playback then clicked on the download symbol. Unfortunately, the recording played back while downloading.

Nothing seems to work.

My guess is it downloads in realtime using the same streaming as though you where viewing. Your video is probably encoded at a 2Mbit/sec bitrate which would be exactly 2% of a 100Mbit network link.

Most DVR's can download recording faster than realtime to get the file as fast as possible.
