White Image with Shadows

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

I`ve recently installed at home a small cctv camera. Very basic:

- One cctv bullet camera of 420L (CCD 1/4" CMOS 420L 3.6MM INFRA 24 LEDS 0 LUX - model CTD-347)

- A pair of video baluns with BNC and Power to RJ45

- 48 meters of UTP Cat6 cable

It all connects to a LCD Television to view the image (no recording device).

The sistem has been working for at least two weeks with no problems.

Now a problem appears!

The camera is showing a complete White Image with some shadows behind that i recognize as the place the camera is pointing.

- I`ve tested with news baluns and the problem remains.

- When connect directly to tv, the problem remains (and sometimes the home electric board crashes when i connect)

- When connected to a tv card on computer it works fine

Any ideas? The thing that makes me thing is the two weeks it all worked fine

I`m considering to introduce a "balun ground loop isolator" next to the camera to see if it gets better.

I just got some of the Dahua cameras in Sam's club promo and I hooked one up and all was fine for a while, then everything went white and stayed that way.

Finally found that the checkbox for gain was checked on that camera and was at 80. I unchecked the box and it works fine now. How that happened I'll never know, I didn't even know it had that feature.

Probably not your problem, but who knows?

I`ve searched everything and all stays the same. Started to think i need some kind of video filter .

Also the electric board is frequently going down whenever i`m around the cctv. It has no land connection for security so i belive o will have to fix it first just in case
